Hey guys,

I have a question regarding my ME tourist visa extension.

How does it work, do I need to fill out and submit the same papers as for a normal tourist visa extension? And do I need a letter from my landlord again? I already send it to my embassy when I applied for the ME so I’m not sure if I need to show it to them again or if it’s enough if I just go there with the print of my ME Visa ?

Thank you so much for helping guys !

I’ve applied for a ME tourist visa through the consulate in Los Angeles. They emailed me are asking for “the hotel confirmations and/or accommodation arrangements for the duration of your stay (must show your name, address, length of stay, etc.).” I will stay in Bangkok 1 night they fly to Nan to stay at my Fiancé’s house for the remainder. On the application, I provided the receipt from the hotel, proving one night stay and my fiancé‘s name and address. What are they looking for??

If I have a 6 month ME tourist visa that expires on Sept 29th 2019. Can I go out and back in on Sept 28th and expect a 2 month stamp like previous entries during this 6 month visa validity?

Does anyone know if a US citizen can apply for a ME Tourist visa in the US if they are retired? The requirements explicitly state “Employment Verification Letter”, but why would they not allow a retired person with verifiable income to have one? Since I’m only planning to live in Thailand part-time for the moment, using a visa that allows a 6-9 month stay without any of the cumbersome “new” regulations seems ideal for me.

I will be applying for a ME Tourist Visa next month in my home country. My question is about the timing of exiting/entering Thailand and extensions. My plan is to maximize my time in Thailand, as well as travel to neighboring countries.

I read previous posts, and tried to understand the timing options. Below are 2 scenarios, as examples. Will both of these scenarios work?

What ends the ME TV? Is it 9 months total within Thailand, or 9 months from the date of the first entry?

Let me know if I am missing something obvious.

Thanks in advance for the advice. This group is a valuable resource.

SCENARIO 1

60 days in Thailand

Fly out to Vietnam 2 weeks

60 days in Thailand

Fly out to Cambodia 1 week

60 days in Thailand

Fly out to Malaysia for 1 week

60 days in Thailand + 30 day extension

9 months in Thailand

1 month in other countries

10 months TOTAL

SCENARIO 2

60 Days in Thailand + 30 day extension

Fly out to Vietnam 2 weeks

60 days in Thailand + 30 day extension

Fly out to Cambodia 1 week

60 days in Thailand + 30 day extension

9 months in Thailand

3 weeks in other countries

9 months 3 weeks TOTAL

Hey group!

I’m applying for the 6 month ME tourist visa from my home country in January, and could use some guidance from someone whose done this before. For some background, I have a fresh passport, haven’t been to Thailand since 2015, will have the bank statement needed. So...

- did you get a feel for what the employment letter needs to state? And why they want it

- were you questioned about your employment at all? E.g. “will this company still be employing you while you’re in Thailand/will your job be waiting when you get back?”

- Based on your experience do you have a feel for which would be best - getting a letter of employment from my retail job stating that they’ll employ me again when I’m back, or registering myself as a sole trader travel writer so that I’m self employed and can provide myself a letter but no self assessment?

I’d appreciate any guidance, but if what you’re writing is speculation/just something you’ve heard please make that clear, as theres lots of inaccurate info already out there and I’m really looking for reliable, first hand experiences ideally! ☺️ Thank you! Xo
