I’ve applied for a ME tourist visa through the consulate in Los Angeles. They emailed me are asking for “the hotel confirmations and/or accommodation arrangements for the duration of your stay (must show your name, address, length of stay, etc.).” I will stay in Bangkok 1 night they fly to Nan to stay at my Fiancé’s house for the remainder. On the application, I provided the receipt from the hotel, proving one night stay and my fiancé‘s name and address. What are they looking for??

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user applied for a multi-entry (ME) tourist visa through the Los Angeles consulate and has been asked to provide hotel confirmations or accommodation arrangements for their stay in Thailand. They provided a hotel receipt for one night in Bangkok and details of staying at their fiancé's house in Nan. Commenters suggest additional documentation may include an invitation letter from the fiancé, a copy of their Thai ID, and a housebook to verify the address.

Do you have to provide proof of all 90 days or just the first 60 before you get the extension?

it says duration. I take it to mean the 72 days I’ll be in the kingdom.

Have your fiance write an invitation letter and include a copy of their Thai ID card and possibly housebook as well showing the address.

They may also ask you for additional information on why you need a multi-entry tourist visa.

thank you. I’ve gotten ME visas before. They are definitely asking for more information

I mean they might specifically say "why do you need a multi-entry tourist visa instead of a single entry?" There have been reports of them asking people this lately.

I’ve always been asked that when getting ME tourist visas but never been asked to provide proof of accommodation for the entire 6 months or more.

Most I ever showed was booking for a month.

Maybe they’re being more picky. Perfect timing when they’re desperate for tourists, especially higher spending western ones

someone yesterday was asked to provide fully paid lodging for at least 30 days with payment receipt and tax ID of hotel or landlord. Since Covid many requirements have gotten more difficult

30 seems reasonable. The entire 6 months or more, not so much.

I’m wondering if moving towards online processing of visas has made things more difficult.

I’ve always done them in person and could give answers directly to the person asking them.

Maybe doing it online leads to more rigid by the books processing

yeah, I got lazy with the bank statements. So, that’s on me and I’ll upload them.

I’ll have to get my fiancé to write a letter and send that.

It does state I will have to prove why I want a ME visa.

@Alan ******
You are only stamped in for 60 days on a multi-entry tourist visa. Asking to show 6 months of lodging makes no sense

they wanted 6 months of bank statements and proof of accommodations for “the duration of my stay”. Didn’t ask for 6 months accommodations. If that wasn’t stated correctly, I apologize.

Ok. Yeah 6 months of bank statements is required.

I’ve also been asked multiple times to provide a letter from my employer stating I was allowed to leave my job for and extended period of time

really? Yeah this is more strict like you said.

That was over 3 years ago and I was asked for it two years before that so it’s not a recent change. That was at the DC embassy.

yeah they've been very strict with bank statements since Covid started. When they first opened TR again after the 2020 lockdown you had to show $10,000 USD in the bank for 6 months to even apply for single entry tourist visa 😂

I’ve been 3 times since Covid and this seems way different. I just screen shot some shit and sent it in. Not this time.
