Hi all, just looking for some advice regarding the covid extension for the visas.

I have had to leave the current school I work at in the middle of my contract due to a dispute. As I’m currently on a Non B visa could anybody explain the process of what I have to do now? I’ve looked online and there’s a bit of conflicting information and I also never know what to believe there either haha. I’m in Bangkok too if that helps.

Thanks a lot.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks guidance on extending their Non-B visa in Bangkok due to leaving their job amidst a contract dispute. The response clarifies the distinction between a 90-day single-entry visa and a one-year extension based on employment. It outlines the application process for a 60-day extension related to COVID-19, detailing necessary documents and potential requirements that may vary by immigration office.

The reason why there's so much confusion online about what to do is because different people call the same thing by different names. In this case, it's the word "visa".

LOOK in your passport. Are you currently on your original 90 day single entry visa ("the sticker") OR a stamp that says "extension of stay based on employment"?

IF you're on your original 90 day single entry Non-B visa ("the sticker"), there is nothing you need to cancel (except, maybe, your work permit if you were issued one already). When you have 30 days remaining, apply for a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19.

IF you're on a one year extension of stay based on employment, you will need to cancel your work permit at your local labor office and your extension of stay at the local immigration office. You will then apply for a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19.

Different immigration offices have different requirements for the 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19, but all require the following:

1. Your passport and:

a. a copy of your data ("picture") page

b. a copy of your most recent visa (if you have one)

c. a copy of your most recent stamp

d. a copy of your departure card

2. A TM30, filed in the immigration office [May not be asked at some immigration offices].

3. The forms (each immigration office may have different forms, and may want to use their special forms) The forms for Bangkok are found in the FILES section of this group.

4. A letter from your embassy saying you can not return, OR a print out from your embassy website saying they don’t issue the letters, OR a print out of a letter from the embassy saying they don't issue those letters.

5. 2x passport pictures

6. 1,900 THB.

Different immigration offices have different policies. *SOME* may require:

- The ID card of the property owner where you are staying

- Copies of *ALL* stamped pages in your passport

Sorry to be a pain
@Benjamin *****
, for the TM30 form does this have to be a copy of the original one that was submitted when we moved in or does the landlord/ourselves need to submit another one?

If you hαve TM30 receipt at your current address, no need to reapply TM30. Bring TM30 receipt you already have.

Thank you Ellie, unfortunately I don’t have that receipt as I never received it from the landlord, they did send me an online login too but that has now changed. I have contacted them though to find this out - I’m guessing this is the same thing too ☺️

if you can log in to the system, search your record and get a screen capture of (not-so) detailed info display. That would be fine enough. You can search 2 weeks at a time.

Or you can re-apply online. Submitting at same address is not a problem.

thanks a lot for your response Benjamin that’s great. Im actually on my extension of stay from my employment so will get on with sorting out all of this information right away. Do you know if the embassy letter is easy to deal with when it comes to the UK/England?
Benjamin ******
@Matthew ********
I knew I seen a notice on their website saying they don't issue the letters, but I can't seem to find it right now :(

If they still have that notice, take a screenshot of of it and submit it with your packet.

Which immigration office will you use?
