TLDR : Answer Summary
The user currently holds a Tourist (TR) visa while in Thailand and is planning to return to France before coming back to Thailand regularly. They are seeking advice on the best visa type for working in diving centers or as a nurse. Comments suggest applying for a Non-B visa, particularly if they secure employment with a Thai employer. It’s advisable to start the application process based on the employer's support.

If you're planning on working then get your employer to get you a non-B.

then a non-O based on retirement as you're not married to a Thai. But you can't work on that visa.

You would apply for the non-OA visa at a Thai Embassy or Consulate in France where you reside, not in Thailand. Or alternatively, you could do a conversion from a visa-exempt entry or a tourist visa to an extension of stay based on retirement once you are in Thailand assuming you meet the financial and other requirements for such an extension.

I believe you can apply from either but it might be easier to do from France. I'm sure one of the visa experts on here will be able to explain if you can apply from here and what the conditions are.
