How can I obtain a Thai motorcycle license while staying in Phuket with a DTV?

I’ll be staying in Phuket with a valid DTV and would like to obtain a Thai motorcycle licence.

I have an Italian car licence and an International Driving Permit, but neither covers the motorcycle category I need, so I understand that I will have to complete the Thai application and testing process.

I’ll be staying at the same hotel for at least one month. The hotel will register my TM30 and provide me with a copy, but I won’t have a standard rental agreement or a 90-day report.

Has anyone with a DTV recently completed this process in Phuket? In particular, was Phuket Immigration willing to issue a Certificate of Residence based on a hotel TM30 and an accommodation confirmation letter?

I would also appreciate any recent information about the required documents, appointments and overall timing for obtaining the motorcycle licence.

I have already emailed Phuket Immigration but haven’t received a response, so I’m mainly looking for recent first-hand experiences in Phuket.
