Looking into options for next Thai visa.I recently used a METV staying around 150 days in Thailand.I've now been advised if I apply for this type visa again this year its likely it'll be issued but no guarantee of entry because of amount of time spent in Thailand.Would a DTV soft power or non o retirement (im over 50 and have the funds available) suit me....appreciate any helpful advice

Might seem like a silly question, but wanted to ask anyway. While the DTV is the prime choice for long terms stays, can a METV visa be suitable for someone who plans to live in Thailand about 3 weeks out of the month, and return the following month? I know its validity is for 60 days and can be extended to an additional 30 days. Would someone have difficulty entering Thailand frequently?

Hope someone can advise. I have been in Thailand on and off for past 7 months on an METV. On my last entry I was stamped in until April 10 which was the last day of visa ( I could extend another 30 ) . So far so good. I left to Malaysia returned last week and was stamped in on a normal tourist visa not my METV. I spoke to IO in Jomtien who said I need to return to Bkk where I entered and deal with it there. My problem is I am due to go to Vietnam for a week and am worried about being denied entry on my return. Will my METV still be valid or has it been cancelled by being stamped back in on a normal TR 60.

Any help or advice welcome.

I have not long come back from Thailand and am looking to go again in June and this time planning on applying for the multi entry visa. Do you still need to show financial proof and if so is it the same amount as DTV?

Hi,

Can anyone share any recent experiences of applying for DTV soft power Muay Thai from Bali Indonesia?

Will they ask for extra documents etc or an interview? Looking for the easiest application whilst also enjoying my wait. 🙏🏿🙂✌🏿

METV

I’m on METV and about to leave the kingdom for 5 days. Do I have to buy any re-entry permit or I’m fine without on METV ?

Hello all

I usually travel twice a year to Thailand on a visa exempt, travelling from Australia. Never had an issue as duration is 3 or 4 weeks each stay. Real tourist here.

This year, I want to travel 3 or 4 times but think this might be pushing it with visa exempt each time. I'm wondering if it's worth getting METV for this year or the IO will still be happy with visa exempt, given I've had short stays only?

Cheers
