What are the current rules on getting extra time in Thailand by doing a Laos/Myanmar border bounce ie used to just walk out of Thailand and walk back only took about 30-45 min to get processed BUT when getting my family visa in Chiang Rai (prior to that had my tourist visa and its extension) the immigration officer told me now need to stay out of Thailand for 2 nights before I can return.
Appreciated if someone could let me know the current amount of time I need to stay out - I preferred the in/out but if needed will book a hotel. All the best.
My son ( in Phuket ) is coming up to the halfway mark on his 6 month multi entry visa , so has to do a border run .
While i was over there a lady got him stamped after the first 60 days and said she can organise him a run for 2500 baht ( which is no problem ) but she said Burma pick up 5 am and home that night , but our over cautious Burmese friends here in New Zealand said to not risk it .
Side note …. Bless his heart but if he had to fly and do an over night by himself 100 percent he will miss the plane or leave his passport at the 7/11 next to the snickers bars .
So any advice or companies, ride shares etc would be Amazing .
I forgot to get a 2 months visa on time, so now wondering: Is there possibilities to do a Visa run to Myanmar? I'll be in the north and it would be great to go somewhere close to there. If yes can you recommend a bus/train/flight/company? Would be great to book a ride or flight out of the country before I land already
Hi all , I am wondering if someone knows if the border with Myanmar in Ban Phu Nam Ron is open? An agency told me that it is, but another person told me that the last month it was closed, any clue? Thanks
