TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion reveals that doing a border run to Cambodia is currently impractical due to poor relations between Thailand and Cambodia, and general instability in the region. Some participants suggest flying to other countries instead, while others mention that crossing borders into Myanmar may be limited to specific routes, primarily by boat from Ranong, amidst ongoing civil strife. Laos is recommended as a better option for border runs, with various alternatives mentioned.

they've been in the middle of a civil war and military coup for years. Don't leave the tourist area and you'll be fine.

which border is open for a border run into Myanmar? I've just left Mae Sot and all land crossings are closed that I know of.

There is a boat crossing from further down Thailand but that's about it.

I would suggest against Cambodia. Both countries are not in the best of ties right now so it might be worth it to go elsewhere unless you really want to visit, but cross over from another country
