I have a flight ticket for 60 days to Thailand. Is it possible to get an additional 30-day extension at the immigration offices in Thailand?

I failed to find anything with a search, does immigration in Bangkok require an outbound ticket/hotel booking to give an extension for visa exemption?

I appreciate it is a general information and eventually everything is based on IO discretion.

I have a visum until 4th of February. I want to extend it with 30 days. From when can I go to immigrations (Chiang Mai)? And do I need an outbound ticket? (Singapore airlines made me buy one which I’m going to waste now 😞 )

Going to Penang for a 60 day tourist visa. This is my first time there, and I’ve heard they’re strict. A couple of questions:

- do I really need a ticket out of Thailand? I didn’t need it in Vientiane. If so, does anyone know of a super cheap airfare or service that refunds tickets?

- how much should I bring in cash for transactions? Should I bring Baht?

- how much should I have in the bank?

Any advice would be appreciated, since this is my first time in Penang.
