Hi all. My yearly lease at my apartment in Bangkok will expire next month, but my Retirement Visa (Non-O) will not need to be extended until the end of September. My hope would be to NOT sign another one-year lease, but to spend the coming year exploring around Thailand and other countries. I have been told that I must have another "long term lease" when I apply for an extension at Chaeng Wattana. But how long is that - another year? Again, I'd really prefer to just do month-to-month rentals in different cities for the next year. Thanks!

I have a DTV visa. Does anyone know the minimum months I need for a lease to open a Thai bank account? Examples: 1 month, 3 month etc. Thanks

Hello, I’ve posted about renting and moving around on another page. It was suggested to rent month to month via Airbnb.

How does that work when applying for the over 50 retirement visa?

Do I stick at one address while application is processing and then start moving around from location to location for a few months at a time. Do I need to sit still and grow roots? Thanks

Quick report Pattaya IO visit. Received tm30 receipt with no problems . Also obtained list of documents needed to extend non immigration visa . See below .

A bit of mixed messages from the two staff of that section. They both said i needed a lease...the list does not mention it specifically. One person said it needed to be a 12 month lease but it seemed like the more senior person said it could be a 6 month lease. They both said a receipt for 1 month hotel stay was not enough.
