Hi everyone, I'm currently living in a province adjacent to BKK (just one hour from the city) would it be possible to apply for a DTV soft power activity in BKK having a long term lease agreement active in a nearby province?
I could easily travel to the soft power activity whenever I'd have to attend.
The plan would be to let the lease agreement expire and then move to BKK later on.
Should I just not mention that at all in the Visa application and simply put in a BKK hotel address?
Been told for 90day non o visa need to book condo for long term ue one yr is this correct seems wrong to book condo for this long when you haven't even seen it
Hi everyone 👋 Planning to apply for DTV Soft Power (Muay Thai) via Hanoi and looking for quick confirmations from approved applicants. The muay thai school has history of successful applications in hanoi. I'm Italian. On my passport there is 1 entry this year, other 3 entries last year.
Questions:
* 💰 Bank: Is 500,000 THB closing balance + Movement of 6 month enough, or do they want a 6-month average? Funds are split across 2 bank accounts: OK or risky?
* ✈️ Flight: Is a flight out of Vietnam into Thailand required?
* 🏨 Hotel: How many nights in Vietnam did you book for the application?
Hi guys! So, Travel information… when applying for a DTV (workcation) do they also ask this? Because i already booked my flight IN but not OUT… same with accomodation, this might change every week… how did you solve this? Thanks!
Hello everyone, I am applying 90 days Non-O evisa now. It requires to provide booking information. Does anyone know the minimum days you need to book for visa approval without questions. I booked a hotel for 30 days, is that enough for visa application? I haven’t decided where I will stay after that. I will search an apartment during my first 30 days.
I am 59 years old, residing in Australia. In early August 2025 I will retire and get a cash payout in excess of 800,000 THB. It will be ample for setting up (required bank balance for 12 month retirement visa, car purchase, house renovation) and living costs in Thailand until May 2026 when I start to receive a pension, in excess of the 65,000 THB a month.
Once I receive that cash payout, I intend to make application via e-Visa for a 90 day Non-Immigrant Visa(O). The plan is I will fly to Phuket to stay with my girlfriend in a hotel for about a week, then we fly to Udon Thani to reside in her house for the remainder of the 90 days. I will later apply for a 12 month extension.
In regards to that 90 day Non-Immigrant Visa(O) application, I have these questions that I hope you can answer:
1. Purpose of Visit:
If I do not receive a pension until May 2026, can I use - Retirement (pension aged 50 or above with state pension who wishes to stay in Thailand for no longer than 90 days)?
Uploading bank statements will show regular fortnightly salary payments from my employer (in excess of the 65,000 THB a month), but not pension payments, and then the August cash payout from my employer.
Will the fact it's not a pension create a problem and possibly non issue of that visa?
Does it matter that I have not received pension payments at the time of application, seeing as the application asks for financial evidence of monthly income of no less than 65,000 THB or having the current balance of 800,000 THB?
Could I apply for the visa prior to the cash payout, based on my salary payments?
2. Accommodation in Thailand:
Under Accommodation type, for Private Property, it has a mandatory field for Accommodation name. What do I put in there for my girlfriends house?
3. Sponsor letter:
When I reside at my girlfriends house, as I won't be staying in a hotel, condo, Airbnb etc, I assume I will require a sponsor letter from my Thai girlfriend. What does it need to contain? Does it need to be in Thai or English?
My son and I are looking at the DTV for next August to go from UK. We will have the funds there but wanna ask few questions.
1. Is the funds (500,000baht) per person I be applying for myself and a dependent my son.
2. Can accommodation proof be the lease of a villa as we thinking get a base and then leave every 180 days for 30 days (we come back uk annually anyway) but thinking be nice have a place we not having to lug all our luggage all time as 30 days we could go via carry on easy.
3. Is it best to have the 3 months of bills payments on top the main funds or just have the main proof of funds.
I do content creation online so am self employed and will just submit my tax return or can I just send a portfolio of what I do charge etc.
Thailand DTV Visa Approved – Here’s How I Did It 🇹🇭
Just got approved for the Digital Nomad (DTV) visa and wanted to share my experience in case it helps anyone else. I applied from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, giving myself about two weeks before I’d need to leave — and thankfully it worked out.
⸻
What I submitted:
Since they only allow one PDF per category, I combined multiple things smartly. Here’s what I submitted:
• UK Ltd company incorporation doc (I contract through my own business)
• Bank statement (1 month)
• Passport photo
• Client invoices
• A PDF showing my experience and portfolio
• A signed letter stating I don’t intend to work for Thai clients or companies
⸻
Financials — mine weren’t perfect:
Most of my money was in Trading 212, which isn’t considered a proper bank. The day before applying, I moved funds to my Barclays account and included:
• A screenshot of the transfer
• A brief explanation
• A summary of my other accounts
I also added a sponsorship letter from my dad, with his bank statement and ID, just as a fallback.
⸻
After submission, they asked for:
• Photos of all passport pages
• A company overview (I just created a basic one with my intro, mission, and services)
Putting all the passport photos into one PDF was a bit of a pain, but I managed it using a command-line tool on my Mac to compress and merge them.
⸻
Accommodation:
I listed an Airbnb address for the application, not my actual long-term stay (which isn’t TM30-registered). I now have a short stay booked at a TM30-registered place for when my friend visits, and I’ll use that for my 90-day report.
⸻
Final Result: Approved
No interview, no major issues — just a few extra docs and a little prep. If your finances are a bit outside the box like mine, don’t panic — just explain things clearly and cover your bases.
Happy to answer questions or share general guidance if it helps someone else!
Hi, I have been trying to get a 60 day tourist visa from the Thai Embassy in Madrid and I have shown them proof of tickets to BKK and onward tickets out of Thailand to Lao not more than 60 days later, I have also shown them a reservation in BKK for 1 night but now they want to see Hotel bookings up until the point I leave for Lao, How can you possibly do this if you plan to travel around and visit different places? Is there a way around this? TIA :-)
