Can I apply for a DTV soft power activity in Bangkok while living in a nearby province?

Hi everyone, I'm currently living in a province adjacent to BKK (just one hour from the city) would it be possible to apply for a DTV soft power activity in BKK having a long term lease agreement active in a nearby province?

I could easily travel to the soft power activity whenever I'd have to attend.

The plan would be to let the lease agreement expire and then move to BKK later on.

Should I just not mention that at all in the Visa application and simply put in a BKK hotel address?

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about applying for a DTV soft power activity in Bangkok while residing in a neighboring province. They ask if they need to disclose their current lease agreement when applying and if using a hotel address in Bangkok would suffice. Comments suggest that using a hotel address is acceptable, and the lease agreement does not need to be shown. It is advised to apply for the DTV outside of Thailand and that traveling for classes is manageable. Potential concerns about immigration scrutiny were discussed, but generally, users felt it wouldn't be a significant issue.

Dtv has nothing to do with your address in Thailand... You will apply DTV outside Thailand. Please connect us

You don’t need to show your current lease agreement.

If they did ask for accommodation you could book a few months accommodation in booking dot com as “pay on arrival” or refundable.

I’m pretty sure from what I’ve read that maybe only the UK asks for accommodation and possibly Malaysia . But it’s highly unlikely they will

Ask in a neighbouring country

that was my thinking, yes. If I'd go that route and succeed, do you think that somehow, later on immigration could notice that I'm not in the same city as my soft power activity and give me problems? In this case I'm probably overthinking, but it would be nice to know someone else's thought about this. Thanks man

Nah it’s not that deep bro you will be fine. The only time that it could matter is doing in country extensions.

Currently most immigrations require basically all documents that you used to apply to get an extension granted.

So in that case if your documents were leaning towards say Pattaya but your immigration was in nonthanburi that could raise a question.

But from reports it’s not even worth trying to extend in country just fly out or cross a land border and there is no questions asked

thanks for the insight bro.

Yes I'm often reading this page's posts-- what you said aligns with the info I've gathered here and short trips would be exactly what I'm planning to do.

So I'd very likely just book a completely refundable hotel room for my issue

It shouldn't be an issue. Especially if you sign up for something like a 6 month cooking course where you just have to take 8 classes within the 6 months. You could just plan on doing 4 overnight trips to take a class on the day you arrive, then another the next day, and then head home.

A. Nony Mous yes, for me it would be okay, I'm just worried that this might be a problem for obtaining the visa

I think you should consider for yourself first if you want to travel 2 hours for each training

Doesn't say it's for Muay Thai training. They might be talking about the herb course which you attend once a month.

You will need to apply for the DTV outside of Thailand. If you won't work remotely from Thailand you can apply using soft power, sign up for a relevant activity for a bare minimum of 6 months, preferably longer. Where you currently live in Thailand is not material

yes I know those things, my doubt is showing my rental agreement of a condo out of BKK as proof of accomodation for a soft power activity that actually is in BKK
