I applied as a freelancer and submitted my application on 6 October which included:
1. Biodata page
2. Image taken within the last 6 months (this was a passport style photo that I used for my ACRO)
3. Proof of residence pack: cover letter, biodata page, driving license and utility bill.
4. Portfolio pack: cover letter, contents page, professional profile, business history and what I do, attached screenshots of my online shops, a few recent customer orders and locations (not customer addresses but their country to show they were outside Thailand), recent payouts, client invoices (with customer details redacted), HMRC tax calculation for
*****
and continuity letter explaining that while in Thailand I will continue this work, etc.
5. Financial evidence pack: cover letter, contents page, source of funds letter, last 3 months of bank statement’s downloaded from my online banking which I used to highlight my income, followed by last 3 months bank statements that I got stamped and printed out in branch.
6. ACRO certificate
I received an additional documents request later that same day at 5:30pm -
* Biodata page of Passport or Travel Document: Biodata page of Passport and opposite page (Observation's page) with your signature. ( please send document(s) in a better picture quality , cover whole page , in colour , recommend to scan or take the photo form original documents )
* Other request documents: Visa processing time may take up to 15 working days or longer after all request(s) submitted. Please remain and provide your E-Ticket(s), all flights route from UK/Ireland to Thailand), at least 4 weeks in advance, a refundable flight ticket recommended.
On 7 October at 12:30pm I sent the biodata page and a travel evidence pack which included my flights and accommodation.
On 8 October it changed to pending approval and then on 11 October at 3:15pm I received an email with approval, so overall took 4 working days from date of submission to approval.
For accommodation I booked 3 days in Bangkok after arrival, then 10 days in Hua Hin (so only 13 days of pre-booked accommodation), however I explained in my original submission and in my travel evidence pack that I’ll be looking for long term accommodation whilst I’m there.
I also added compliance with visa conditions to every cover page that stated I will not provide services to Thai clients, seek any form of employment inside Thailand, will remain in UK until a decision is made on my application and comply with all conditions of the DTV.
I probably went overboard but I wanted to ensure I covered everything. I hope this helps.
