Hey, just wanna hear same experiences with our situation. Parents on Ed-visa. 2 toddlers overstayed. We are planning to fly out to KL after our ed visa expires and come back after 1 week here in TH. Toddlers overstay for 1 year. What are the circumstances that we might encounter at Immigration? I’ve read that toddlers are not banned and fined. Does anyone already experience this? i’d love to hear your thoughts 🙏 thank you

When applying for an ED-Visa for International University in Thailand, I am asked to list the duration of study period, given the option of a start and end date. Should I make the end date for when the degree is finished (4 years later) or the end of the first year of study?

I don't understand if this Visa must be re-applied for again at the end of each school year or if one visa can be renewed for 4 years consecutively.

Ed-Visa question : I'm on third yearly extension of stay studying a Bachelors degree. My extension of stay is valid until dec17 and the official end of my last term will be dec7. BUT I'll be done with all courses and really everything for my degree by the end of august. University never had a foreign student before doing an entire degree with them (only some exchange students from china and Cambodia) and zey don't seem to know anything about having to call in with immigration and cancel my extension of stay. They said I can stay until the end of my current stamp. What do you think, if I don't have any more proof of actually studying from August onwards, but technically still am a student until dec7, what should I actually be doing about it. Any thoughts? Thanks y'all, you're always great!

I'm currently on an ED-Visa and planning to change to a Non-O Visa when my ED-Visa expires in 2 months time. Is there any difference if I leave Thailand when my ED expires and return as a visa-exempt tourist THEN apply for the Non-O, or if I apply for the Non-O while I am still here before my ED expires? Anyone has any experience in this matter? TIA.

Has anybody experience in applying for an ED-Visa in Kuala Lumpur for an internship in the course of one's studies? Do you know what documents they require? (the homepage does not mention this explicitly and the embassy itself was not of great help)

Hi everyone…

I just need some advice… I have a family emergency back in SA and I need to leave either tonight or as soon as possible. I am on an ED-Visa and my husband is dependant on that visa as well he has a Non-O..

However, we went to immigration last week to get it extended and it was put “under consideration” and have to return the 2nd of August for the extension…

If I leave tonight will I be able to come back on the ed-visa or enter as a tourist? Also, he will not be going with me to SA so when he goes to immigration wil he be able to get an extension on the ed-visa knowing that I am not here?

This is quite urgent.

Thanks

Hi all…

I wonder if you could give me some advice.

I have enrolled at Siam College and received the invitation letter. However, I don’t have enough time to get the ED-Visa for myself or the Non-O Visa for my husband as we have already booked and paid our flight for the 14th of April.

Can we fly to Thailand and get the stamp on arrival and then convert to the ED and Non-O visa?

(I have stayed in Thailand before and was on an ED-Visa, I came home to visit my family but then due to COVID, I couldn’t return.. The ED-Visa I do have is not active any longer)

Thanks

🙏🏼

Good afternoon! I have a question referring to ed-visa cancelation.

My Ed-Visa expired on 17th Jan 2022, and I came back to my home country at that time for a holiday. In March 2022, I obtained a non-B Visa in my home country to work for a company in Thailand, which is valid for 90 days. However, I haven't canceled my Ed-Visa and now I am not able to extend the non-B visa for up to 1 year until the Ed-Visa is canceled.

May I ask in this case, should I have any problem at the immigration office when I ask for a Visa cancellation or should I have to pay a fine?

Thank you for your advice in advance.

Hi all,

And good day to everyone. I have a "covid-extension" related question and would be extremely gratefull if some kind soul could give me correct info concerning my situation.

Ok. To start out with, I rent an apartment around the year in Chiang Mai and have been doing so for the past 7 years or so (same address, same room). I visit Finland once or twice a year, every year. But I never ask for a new TM.30 when I return cause I have never needed it for anything. Around 7 years back I was in Thailand with an ED-visa as I was studying at the local university. Did the 90-day reporting and reneved my visa every year. But they never asked for the TM.30 at the Chiang Mai immigration for that...

After my graduation, I have entered Thailand a few times with a TR-visa. And I think I actually needed the TM.30 for applying for the TR- visa back in 2019 in Penang, Malaysia.

The Last time I returned Thailand on 8.12.2021 on a TR-visa again. I was in Finland for mre than one year but still rented my apartment here for the whole time.

I already went and got the one month extension stamp on my visa. Now I´m thinking of going to the local immigration to apply for the covid extension.

I have an old TM.30 receipt from 2019 I think it is... (first picture). I asked the manager downstairs for a new one for the above mentioned purposies. The next day she provided me with this peace of paper (picture 2).

My question is, am I good with these documents as far as tm.30 goes? Or do I need to ask the manager of this serviced appartment where I live, to go to the immigration with her id-card, fill out some forms and give me a brand new TM. 30 receipt?

I may have forgot to mention some important and related info and perhaps I was a bit unclear explaining my situation so please, feel free to ask me any further questions.

Thank you so much :)

Hello, does anyone here have experience of going from an extension of stay based on education to an extension of stay based on employment?

I'm currently on an Ed-Visa (still valid) but have been offered a job. My prospective employer has asked me to cancel my ed-visa and go on the covid extension which they will then transfer to an extension of stay based on employment. Has anyone been through this process?

Thanks in advance.
