What should we expect at Immigration concerning our toddlers' overstay on Ed-visa and returning to Thailand after a week?

Hey, just wanna hear same experiences with our situation. Parents on Ed-visa. 2 toddlers overstayed. We are planning to fly out to KL after our ed visa expires and come back after 1 week here in TH. Toddlers overstay for 1 year. What are the circumstances that we might encounter at Immigration? I’ve read that toddlers are not banned and fined. Does anyone already experience this? i’d love to hear your thoughts 🙏 thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice regarding their situation of having two toddlers who have overstayed their Ed-visas for one year. They plan to exit Thailand for a week to Malaysia and are concerned about potential issues upon returning, especially regarding the immigration process given the overstay. Responses indicate that toddlers generally do not face fines or bans for overstays, but there could be questions about the legitimacy of their Ed-visa, and extra care is advised to avoid complications during re-entry.

No need for any visa for under 15s. No repercussions .

You might want to be careful about IO asking about if your ed visa was legit or not. Coming straight back after one week is an invitation to get invited to the backroom.

you think is possible we leave during our ed visa duration? I just want to settle my kids over stay

There no such thing as "kids on overstay". Under 15 years old you can stay in Thailand without any issue.

Children who overstay are stamped as such in their passport. They are just not fined or banned. Having an overstay may cause issues if they want to attend school in Thailand.

noted on this. I was thinking of what visa we can apply for our kids when we re-enter TH. Thank you tho, appreciate it.

@Maryam ***
If they're eligible for visa exempt entry they can just use that.

your kids are fine if they are under 15. The big problem you could run into is if you do not have the 90 day extensions in your passport, as all ED visa holders not going to a regular university are required to extend their ED visa every 90 days. Even though your visa was for one year, it still had to be extended every 90 days. If these extensions are not in your passport you will face problems, and can be refused entry.

we have been extending every 90 days. Its just funny how we went to Immigration and ask what visa can we do for our toddlers and they just said, “it’s okay no need” 😅

Thank you! This is such a big help and relief🤝
