Non O visa (spouse) approved within 4 working days, using the KL consulate.

Despite hearing they would be slower to get my visa approval, they were excellent and efficient.

400,000 in a bank account.

They are not accepting a monthly income unless 400,000 THB is available on a closing statement however, I did have to provide both.
Answer summary
The Non-O visa (spouse) can be approved rapidly, with this user receiving theirs within 4 working days through the Thai consulate in Kuala Lumpur. They noted the efficiency of the consulate despite hearing it could take longer. However, for approval, a bank account holding 400,000 THB is required, and a monthly income statement isn't sufficient alone.
