Save yourselves some time. The handover from foreign accounts to Thai accounts is delayed as the systems are not up to speed. Even though it was on the WISE list as an acceptable proof of residence, they rejected my retirement visa as such.

If you are in limbo and waiting , and have a retirement visa, I suggest visiting the local government authorities in the main town around you, not the village, and get the requirements for the yellow book and pink card. It's pretty easy but the requirements may differ in each place. When the time comes, you can use these as proof of residence here.

Good luck

I've had a yellow book 12 years or so, its never been accepted where I've tried to use it.

The pink card is more useful. I use it for hospital, doctor, dentist and the like.

For most verification for money related matters I use the passport.

As

says get a residence permit from the immigration office.

Colin Chaffers , ok, the yellow book is just a step towards a pink card. Cheers! It's the pink card that works!

I asked about that as I have that but didn't receive an answer and was referred back to the list on the wise verification page. The certificate is not on the list ...just telling my personal experience.....don't know 100%

you go to the one that serves the area where you live, basically the office where your TM30 has been filed.

Also with regards to your comment about the residence certificate being worth having anyway you should be aware they are only valid for 30 days

thank you! it would be easier to just go to another bank. but the bank mgr and the liaison from the ltr center is helping. I think the certificate of residence is a good thing to have anyways. the harder way to go. but, as a lawyer, I think I can see the sense in the chain of documents allowing the govt. to oversee the persons gifted the LTR. Like me. I’m still astonished I can stay here. I like to interface with authorities personally to see how govt. works here.
