Apologies if this is a stupid question but UK tourists don't need a visa for a 27 day holiday do we? Or do we need to get a visa on arrival?

Hi All,

I've just logged on to apply for a new e Visa Non O based on being a parent of a Thai child and I can only apply for a single entry.

Is this right? Or is it a glitch in the system?

I was using the UK e-visa.

Hi guys, I’m sorry if this has already been asked already but I couldn’t find the answer I was looking for! For the 60 day tourist visa how do I go about applying for this when I am from the UK? I am travelling back home so do I need to go to the Thai embassy in the UK or can I just apply online? Will I also require proof of onwards travel? Thank you so much in advance!

Hey group!

I’m applying for the 6 month ME tourist visa from my home country in January, and could use some guidance from someone whose done this before. For some background, I have a fresh passport, haven’t been to Thailand since 2015, will have the bank statement needed. So...

- did you get a feel for what the employment letter needs to state? And why they want it

- were you questioned about your employment at all? E.g. “will this company still be employing you while you’re in Thailand/will your job be waiting when you get back?”

- Based on your experience do you have a feel for which would be best - getting a letter of employment from my retail job stating that they’ll employ me again when I’m back, or registering myself as a sole trader travel writer so that I’m self employed and can provide myself a letter but no self assessment?

I’d appreciate any guidance, but if what you’re writing is speculation/just something you’ve heard please make that clear, as theres lots of inaccurate info already out there and I’m really looking for reliable, first hand experiences ideally! ☺️ Thank you! Xo

Has anyone been issued an METV visa in the UK recently without having an employment letter from a UK company. I would be able to get an employment letter but not from a UK company. My work situation is a bit complicated just now.

Hi, I'm applying for a multi entry tourist visa in the U.K. I read that you need proof from an employer or from HMRC and a company registration document if you are self employed. I'm a sole trader and therefore don't have company registration documents as not VAT registered. I've contacted HMRC and all they will give me is proof of my tax calculation. I've tried to contact the Thai embassy in London for advice but was just redirected back to the website where my question isn't answered. Has anyone else been in this situation and has a tax calculation sufficed? Any advice gratefully received. Thanks.
