Apologies if this is a stupid question but UK tourists don't need a visa for a 27 day holiday do we? Or do we need to get a visa on arrival?

You don't require anything for that amount of time , on arrival you will be given 30 days visa exemption, nothing is required just turn up with your passport.

UK are not entitled to visa on arrival that you pay for at airport. We get up to 30 days entry with no visa.
