Just a short update on the 6 month Multiple Entry visa. I recently applied for this visa for the 3rd time in three years. It is perhaps not as neccessary/useful as it used to be as you can now receive a 60 day visa waiver on arrival and it seems that you can most likely enter and stay this way several times a year without incurring the £150 visa charge. However, as a frequent visitor, I like the certainty and, as I also like to country hop not just stay in Thailand, this visa suits my needs for now.

Previously they required six months of bank statements and there were lots of odd requirements such as submitting an invitation letter, the i.d. of a Thai National, and a photo of you holding your passport.

Now it is much more straight forward; passport details, picture, proof of country of residence, flights, hotel booking and then simply pay the fee. Applied Monday night, visa approved Thursday night.

I am a UK national.

Seems like Thailand is pushing tourism hard again, as well as wanting to attract wealthier and active long term residents.

If I arrive with a 6 months multiple entry visa, which normally means I leave every 60 days. But I was reading that with the 1 year visa which has a similar rule, you can just go to the immigration and report yourself after 90 days, they extend it. Is that also possible with the 6 months? Does anybody has experience? Would be lovely to share. I am german.

Hi. I have a bit of a hypothetical question based on the 6 month multiple entry visa. My husband, baby and I would like to move to Chiang Mai, Thailand next year on the 6 month multiple entry visa.

1. Does my 1 year old have to apply for the visa as well?

I also plan on applying for a teaching job when we get there

2. Once I get a teaching job, will I then have to apply for a non immigrant visa? And my baby?

Any information would be greatly appreciated. We are quite confused by this process.

3. What happens to my husband and baby? Does my husband then need to apply for spousal visa?
