Approved in Ankara from the second attempt.

Attempt no. 1

Applied on February 11 and waited until March 22 just to get "Wrong place of passport issuance".

So, I lost $400 for indicating an authority and not my home country. They require your country name and not an authority.

Attempt no. 2

Applied on March 27, approved on April 5.

Work:

I'm a freelancer, so I created a long PDF with my portfolio, Terms of Service of one of the platforms, a letter from one of my customers allowing me to work remotely.

Residence:

I uploaded my Turkish residence permit, my rental agreement, and Turktelekom bill to confirm my address in Turkey.

Finances:

I uploaded a fresh bank statement (no stamps, just downloaded it from the app) for theast 3 months.

No additional requests.

Pending approval on April 4.

Approved on April 5.

I wanted to make their work easy, so I prepared 3 PDFs with tables of content and I decided not to add excessive documents.

APPROVED in Ho Chi Minh City 🥳

Category: Workation

This group has been incredibly helpful to me, so like many others, I want to give back my experience of the application process.

Here is some background information to my situation:

* I have a German Passport.

* I own an LLC based in the US that is fairly new and I have never had a company before, but was permanently employed.

* My company has no income yet, because I focused exclusively on mastering the new situation during the first few months of my trip, and that's why I indicated ‘no income’ in the application form.

* I have never applied for a Visa in Thailand before, because Germany is in the Visa exemption category and never have done a border run before.

* I am currently travelling and was in Thailand for a month before travelling on to Vietnam, where I applied for the DTV.

I submitted my application with the following documents, each combined to a PDF document not exceeding 3 MB:

## Document Indicating Current Location

* Overview of contents of the PDF

* Passport page where the stamp of my arrival in Vietnam is shown

* Explanation of accommodation in Vietnam, as I'm booking my various hotels until I can come back to Thailand when the visa is approved, and I didn't want to leave the hotel booking confirmation without an explanation.

* Booking confirmation of the same hotel in Vietnam in which I have been staying at the time of the submission

* Booking confirmation of flight to Thailand

## Document of Financial Statements

* Overview of the contents of the PDF

* Overview of my bank accounts in german language

* Overview of my bank accounts translated with converted currency to THB

> Note: Looking back, I really shouldn’t have submitted the overview in german language. I thought, that it might serve as a proof, because it’s the original document, but they really just want everything in english or thai.

## Document of Professional Portfolio

* Overview of the contents of the PDF

* Introduction to My Professional Portfolio where I have stated why I want to have the DTV Visa, what my plans are, that I do not want to make business in Thailand and a brief overview of my skills (I’m a software developer)

* Document of the structure of my business and the services I offer

* The founding document of my company

* A document stating that I’m the sole owner and director of my company

* Screenshots of every page of my website and an explanation to them

After 2 days they requested further documents

* Passport full book including empty pages

* Bankstatements only in english and covering the last 6 months with the salary of the last 6 months highlighted

* Salary slips of the last 6 months

* Company profile that includes details about its history, vision, mission, products, and achievements

I uploaded everything they requested and took 2 days for that

* made a scan of every page of my passport from 2 to 32

* combined my bank statements to one PDF not exceeding 3MB in size (which was pain)

* combined the salary slips of my previous employer

* wrote a company profile with everything they wanted and stated again, that I do not wish to make business in Thailand, that my company is newly established and what my plans are to create revenue in the future

The next day my status was switched from “checking documents” to “pending approval”.

Another 4 days later (with a weekend in between), I got my approval.

All in all the application process took 11 days.

My boyfriend also applied to the DTV and his process took also 11 days in total.

If I would submit documents again, I would submit:

## Document Indicating Current Location

* Overview of contents of the PDF

* A scan of the full passport book.

* 6 months of bank statements of one (or more) bank accounts having 500k THB in total with the income from the salary slips highlighted

* Salary slips of the last 6 months

## Document of Professional Portfolio

* Overview of the contents of the PDF

* Introduction to My Professional Portfolio where I have stated why I want to have the DTV Visa, what my plans are, that I do not want to make business in Thailand and a brief overview of my skills

* A company profile that includes details about its history, vision, mission, products, and achievements

* The founding document of my company

* A document stating that I’m the sole owner and director of my company

* Screenshots of every page of my website and an explanation to them

Of course this depends on your personal situation and every application process is different.

Hope this helps anyone. If you have further questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. I’m happy to help. 🙂

Entry update: Entered Thailand via Chong Mek land border. I didn't ask him, but it seemed to be the immigration officer's first DTV, as he had to make a call and confirm the 180 days. Everything went smoothly, got 180 days stamp. So happy! 😁

Edit: Alright, I turned off comments on here. There's too much speculation, misinformation and off topic questions and comments. The point was just to share my experience getting my DTV in Vientiane, specifically with my self-employed status. Questions are welcome in DM. Good luck to all!

Just got my Workcation DTV approved from Vientiane Embassy as a self-employed online trader (Canadian passport). I do not work for a company, so I do not have a work contract. I also do not have any clients. I only manage my own trades. I do not have a registered company, only a registered Sole-Proprietorship business in my own name in my home province.

I won't list all the basic documents that everyone has to submit no matter their situation (form, pictures, passport, proof of location, etc), but here's what I submitted for my personal situation to show my digital nomad status:

- Presentation letter where I explained what I do and listed my business registration number and the attachements/supporting documents to follow

- Copy of my Sole-Proprietorship business registration

- Copy of my profit withdrawals to date in 2024

- Copy of my trading/tax reports to date in 2024

- Copy of my income tax report/notice of assessment for 2023

I did ask them in advance about the 500k, they had told me 3-6 months. I provided 6 months, but my statements are 14 pages long, so I only provided the first page of each statement that showed the opening balance, closing balance, my name and full address (no transaction detail) and that seemed to have been enough to make them happy.

When I went to apply, the person checking my documents asked me if I have an ATM card for that bank account specifically. I said no. He asked how am I going to access the money while in Thailand. I explained that I transfer to my Thai bank account and then have an ATM card for that account. He did not ask for any document related to my Thai bank account.

Again, this is at Vientiane Embassy. Don't rely on this if you apply anywhere else or have a different situation. I applied on 23 Aug AM (Friday) and received it today 27 Aug PM (Tuesday).

Good luck to everyone else applying!

Just some feedback on my online application for 60 day visa. Approval arrived in night to UK from BKK after c.60 hours with no query even though I only put An unsigned TM30 in rather than invitation letter. Outgoing flight shown 85 days after entry.

Thnx to Roy and Tod for advice
