Hi everyone. I entered Thailand on 28 July 2025 on a visa-exempt stamp. Later, I changed my status to a Non-Immigrant ED visa, which was approved on 17 September 2025 at Chaeng Wattana.

Now today (around 90 days since my first entry), I’m confused about the 90-day report (TM.47) rule.

Does the 90-day countdown start from:

1️⃣ the date I entered Thailand (28 July), or

2️⃣ the date my ED visa was approved (17 Sept)?

I’ve checked Immigration’s website and can’t find anything clear about whether a visa status change resets the 90-day timer.

Hi, I have a visa-exempt stamp running out on June 9. Can I apply for a 30 days extension, or the Covid extension? What documents are required for these?

Thanks in advance. Great Group!

My daughter just arrived in Bangkok to visit me for a few days on a visa-exempt stamp. She is staying at my home.

Do we need to report her for TM.30?

On a land-based border run (for a new 30-day tourist visa-exempt stamp), under what circumstances might a Thai Immigration official question our plans/motives? I’ve read that officials have sometimes suspected a tourist is gaming the system and then disallowed return entry, but I can’t recall any particulars. As long as it’s the first or second land-based border run in a single calendar year, and you’ve not overstayed, when—if at all—could a tourist be in jeopardy of being refused re-entry? Thanks in advance.

Hi All, first post here...

I had a visa-exempt stamp from a border run to Myanmar, extended by 30 days, expiring Jan 28. Planning then to do another border run, which would be my second consecutive but first in 2019.

Then mid-feb will ride a motorcycle into Malaysia. While there my 30-day visa will expire (which I guess is irrelevant cos it's not multi-entry anyway). So I'll cross the border again, with Thai motorcycle registered in my name, second border crossing in 2019, and get a 30-day visa-exempt stamp at the time. Have I got that right? Or should I get a tourist visa in KL to be sure? Does the motorcycle have any bearing on the situation?
