Hi

I have a non O immigrant visa and am going in to immigration to extent my visa for 12 months for the first time

I have filled out the TM.7 Have my proof of income statement from my embassy. Am 65 But unsure whether I need to fill out the Guarentor form and if so does that person have to accompany me to immigration. I went to the counter when I got my non O immigrant visa 2 months ago and asked for the forms for the extension for a retirement visa and they gave me the TM 7 and Guarentor forms ?

Thank you

Hello all, I'm shortly moving to Thailand and currently have a non-o visa due to my wife's job. I'm now considering if it would be possible to continue my current UK based full remote project management role from Thailand. Thankfully my employer is happy but I'm unsure about work permits.

It appears I have a few options to allow legal working

- DTV - is not available yet and only last 180 days

- LTR - not sure I will meet the conditions

- Use a POE service which appears expensive but can assist securing a non-b visa.

Does anyone have experience of a PEO service, are they legal?

Am I missing any other options?

Thanks all

Hey just thought I would let people know that the border at Ranong is a very simple bounce in and out. Did it yesterday myself and it cost me 2600 thb and was over and back within the hour and I was the only one. I’m on a non o visa by the way.

Hi guys.

Sorry if I get confused with the terminologies about visas and entries, please correct me if I do. I'm Brazilian, I can stay 90 days visa free as a tourist (I don't need to go to any embassy or need evisa to enter Thailand, the bilateral agreement has been set a couple of years ago and it's never changed)

I have some questions, I think they're common but different in their own way (same same but diffelant)

1 - is there any limit on the 90 days, non-o single entry visa based on marriage? I want to marry my gf, but I can't prove I have 400k in my account. She and her family are ok with me being "poor" falang, we already sorted out the personal issues of dowry and wedding. I'm worried about the immigration office and passport control. The point is that if I live with her and have a place to stay I can save money eventually and have the 400k baht in the near future

2 - I have stayed maybe around 5 months in Thailand last year in total. In 2023 I entered in January, left in March, and stayed one and a half month away. Came back in May and left in August. Do you think I may have any problems when coming back now by air? I'll buy a ticket out of Thailand just in case

3 - Can I apply for a work permit if I have the 90 days non-o single entry based on marriage? I doubt it, since it's very little time and it doesn't seem interesting for the kingdom. I work remotely, but I'd like some extra work

TIA 🙏

Hi guys, I’m just about to do the 800,000 THB transfer in to my Bangkok Bank account for the initial 90 day Non-O (Retirement) visa.

Would like to know if it’s considered an international transfer if I’m using Wise? I’ll be transferring the money from my home country via Wise and I’ve read that there’s a requirement to show the funds came from overseas.

Thanks in advanced!

Edit:

Saw that the COVID extensions and some of the convenience factors of visa renewals were rolled back, so question answered: visa run required.

——————

Have a friend of mine that is transitioning from an existing Non-O (volunteer) to another non-o (teacher) and told she has to switch to tourist first.

Are they not allowing this done in-country anymore? It’s been a minute since I checked the latest and greatest from the great ‘Taw Maw’.

Thanks!

Has anyone been to Cambodia and back recently?

I lived here 15 months on a non-o visa which expires 6th July. I need to stay until mid August because I have a cat and I am arranging his travel to the UK with me.

Worried I might not be allowed in on a visa exempt?

I planned to enter Thailand by 60 days TR visa. Upon arrival, then change to non o 90 days visa based on retirement. One of the requirement is 800k baht bank in thai bank 2 month before retirement extension.

I read some information from other, when apply the retirement extension from non -0 90 days, it need to provide the source of fund from aboard , such as FET issued from bank.

From my knowledge, the FET issued from bank is possible only when the fund remitted from aboard to Thailand in “foreign currency”. But I plan to remit the fund in thai baht of 800k directly to Thai bank (not in foreign currency then convert to Thai baht by local Thai bank)

Is it a requirement the immigration need such proof of fund remitted in “foreign currency” by FET? Or they also accept the fund remitted in thai baht from aboard ? ( I am planning to apply the above at pattaya immigration. Anyone have such experience related to application made in pattaya immigration)

Thanks for advise !
