Urgent advice needed. Flight cancelled (the second cancellation) on day 90 of our Non O Visa. New flight with Emirates on Friday 20 March. We visited Immigration next morning with full rack of required forms, photos etc. he gave us 7 days temporary extension, so if next flight cancelled we’re in a bad situation again. Officer said as we had already been here 90 days he was not authorised to give another 30! He said either you leave the country and come back in (60 days exempt) or if your next flight is cancelled and you don’t wish to leave you will have to contact the British consulate in Phuket and get a letter from them pleading your case. We are both retired and enjoy 3 months in Thailand once per year. The Immigration officer stamped our passports with overstay and charged 500 BHT each plus the 1,900 fee each. No interest whatsoever that we only overstayed due to cancelled flight. God knows how this might affect our visa application in Dec. Any experiences or knowledge so appreciated so long as it isn’t ’just fly with another airline’ or lecturing me on Thai regulations.

The Washington D.C. embassy requires I have the 800k baht for the 90-day Non-O retirement visa in my U.S. bank account 3 months prior to applying. I have to sell my house to have the 800k and I will not have anywhere to live once my house is sold

What other route can I take to retire in Thailand after selling and getting the 800k? Should I just get there visa exempt and go from there somehow?

Hi, I’ve entered Thailand for 3 weeks on Non-O visa (3-month) and plan to extend it (or my stay, to be precise for some) to a year, which will require a 2-month deposit record of 800k baht at a local Thai bank. I’m just about to get an address certificate, with my lease contract, from the Immigration Office ; the address certificate is required by most Thai banks. My question is……..

before my Non-O expires 3 months from my entry, yet my bank deposit has not reached 2 months, how may I continue legally staying here and make my bank deposit reach 2 months, so that I may extend my stay to one year ?? 🤔

I know my Non-O (3-month) is good for only single entry, and as soon as I leave Thailand, I will need to re-apply.

Thank you so much for sharing your great knowledge ! 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Still working in the UK, aged 63, want to spend 2x90 days in Thailand per year, not married.

What’s the best visa?

Would also appreciate any recommendations on health insurance ( not travel ) for while I am there that would pay the hospital direct, no underlining medical conditions.

Thanks for your time fella’s

So I got my 90 day non-o (marriage) single entry visa in England, waited 6 weeks in Thailand, applied for and recently got my 1 year extension (first time doing here), got my multi-entry permit and am good until October 2026.

Looking to next year extension I will have 9 months left in my passport when the extension ends. What are the options as I would need 12 months to do another extension? I heard visas can't be used once your passport is renewed.

If I go to UK and renew my passport October 2026, I would have to get another 90 day single entry visa in UK, wait 6 weeks in Thailand to apply for 1 year extension again, then wait 30 days again for processing? Or because I've had already done an extension in Thailand, would the processing time be less even though it's a new passport and new visa.

Can someone clarify the options, if any?

Hello. I have a question about applying for a Thailand non-o visa in Vietnam. I have a limited time in Vietnam on their visa. If my non-o e-visa for thailand takes too long, can I enter thailand and then do a border run to Vietnam when the e-visa comes through and come back on the non-o? Anyone have experience with that?

I'll try to make this as succinct as possible:

* 15Mar: Arrived BKK on a Non-O, staying in a private residence, TM30 submitted

* 25Mar: Got the "official" TM30 from immigration, this allowed me to open bank account, deposited 800K THB that day.

* 30May: Planning visit to immigration to get 1 year extension for Non-O

* 12Jun: Current Non-O stamp in passport expires

Questions:

* What do I need to do to have a smooth experience with immigration on 30May?

* I know I have to go to my bank and get...something??? Official letter? Stamp in my passbook? Something else?

* Do I need to do ANYTHING else other than proof of funds? Refresh the TM30? Etc?

I assume I can initiate this as soon as the funds have "seasoned" i.e. 2 months in bank. I don't want to wait until the last minute and have my current visa expire due to issues with immigration.

Thanks...

Hi, I am now on a Thai wife non-o visa. My understanding is that now I am eligible to work. Immigration told me to go to labour office to find details for work permit. Labour office gave me a bunch of paper in thai and say your prospective employer must fill. The prospective employer says I need to leave the country and that will arrange a business visa based on which the work permit will be granted. So what’s the truth here? Who need a business visa if married to a thai allows you to work?
