Still working in the UK, aged 63, want to spend 2x90 days in Thailand per year, not married.

What’s the best visa?

Would also appreciate any recommendations on health insurance ( not travel ) for while I am there that would pay the hospital direct, no underlining medical conditions.

Thanks for your time fella’s

TLDR : Answer Summary
The ideal visa for a 63-year-old looking to stay in Thailand for two separate 90-day periods each year is the Non-O visa based on retirement. This visa allows for two 90-day entries without the need for an outbound ticket or extensions. Alternatively, one could enter Thailand on a 60-day visa-exempt entry and then extend it by 30 days twice. For health insurance, it is recommended to obtain comprehensive insurance from a home-country provider, which is typically more affordable than local options.

@Gordon ******

Not sure about visa, but think you should get holiday insurance which covers you for up to 90 days per trip, as it would be much cheaper.
Colin *******
Get a comprehensive Insurance from home it will be vastly cheaper than in Thailand

Either 2 x 90day Non O based on retirement, bank statement showing 3 monthly incomes from work of over £1510 if still working. You could open a bank account here which would make it easier for local payments.

Or 2 visa exempt of 60 days each and extend by 30 days each time, this only works providing the 60 days on entry continues.
Len *****
It is easy for you. Don’t need a visa. 60 day visa free plus 30 day upgrade at immigration.

If only 2x 90 days ..take a insurance company from home

Yes I agree with you about the Non O based on retirement.

That way you can choose your own medical insurance.

The OA Retirement you have choose a medical coverage set out by immigration.

Good luck.

The easiest solution is to apply for two 90-day Non-O visas based on retirement per year. That way you’re completely safe and don’t have to worry about an outbound ticket or spending time and money on an extension in Thailand.
John *********
I guess you can also do this with marriage visa 90 day Non-O too if you aew married to a thai?

Immigration don’t object to 2 x 90d ? Ie they expectvyou to apply for 12 months?

That way i wouldnt have to deposit 400k

@John ********
That should normally work just fine, and I know there are members here who travel that way twice a year from the UK.
Steve ******
@Jan *****************
so do you have to send in the original documents? Or simply send in PDFs of them?
Robin *******

@Steve *****
You combine three months of pay slips or three months of pension payments into a single PDF file and upload it electronically in the e-visa portal as documentation.
