Hello, general question from the USA. I submitted for a retirement OA Visa through the Thai E Visa site. I submitted the paperwork on the 25th of January and I just realized I left out the second page of my Health insurance certificate which has the stamp on it when I submitted the paperwork. What is my next step? Do I submit a whole new request with that information added? Do I wait for them to get back to me and tell me what documents I forgot and then submit those documents? I Fly out of Houston Texas on March 4th, do you think that is enough time to resubmit documents and get approved? The website still says processing application. I tried calling Thai Embassy in Washington DC but no answer. Any help would be appreciated.

I may have been a little unclear on my previous post, I’m sorry about that so I will try again and hopefully be a bit clearer. Please bare with me.

I previously was granted a Thai OA visa in Australia. In doing so the requirements was to have funds equaling 800,000 bht then approximately $32,000 AUD. Next year I will be needing to apply for a new OA visa. Planning to apply in Australia.

On viewing the said visa requirements, now it is stating that the requirement is to show $54,545 AUD. Which obviously substantially more than the 800,000 bht previously.

Has anyone recently applied for the OA visa in Australia. If so what was the outcome? And is there anyone that can confirm this is actually the case? Seems unrealistic to me. I hope this post is somewhat clearer. TIA.

I have a question about 0-A Visa

In the past I have used this Visa to stay here in Thailand

And just before it expires I would take a trip outside of the country and when I landed back in Thailand just days before it expired immigration at the airport would stamp it for a full another year

Does anyone know if this is still happening?

I also understand the new regulations of having health insurance in place and that the Visa will only be extended for the length of the insurance policy

Which I plan to do

Does anyone know of this policy still working the same way

Thank you

Dears,

I have an OA (retirement) visa valid until first of October 2021. I normally do my 90 day reporting in Bangkok, as my permanent address is in Bangkok. Nonetheless, as I am in Pattaya at the moment, can I do my next 90 day reporting in Pattaya, using my same permanent address in Bangkok?

For info, my reporting is due for next week.

Thanks for your feedback, appreciated!

An update that may help some people.

I did not met the new requirements for application of an extension against my OA visa.

As a New Zealander i decided to do my application for a new OA visa in Australia.

I had the advantage of previous living there and a AU bank account.

Arrived Perth, next day went to Post Office, completed Police certificate request, cost 54.30, this took 5 days to arrive at my stated address, (friends place).

Same time had passport photos taken, need three for visa application.

Next day went to medical centre for medical certificate, completed, note this can take a full day as you need to go to different places for different tests. Then go back to the doctor after 4 days to pick up certificate.

Printed bank statement showing sufficient funds.

Completed forms off Thai embassy website, three pages.

Went to “Notary Public” (lawyer) where 2 copies and original set were notarized, cost 150.

Courier all documents with passport and return courier envelop to Thai embassy, cost 275, arrived next day, embassy process took 3 working days, courier back 4 days due to weekend.

Total process time from arrival and back to Thailand took 2 weeks however return ticket date was a bit tight.

As a NZ’er the process using the AU Thai embassy was very simple, what i cant clarifiy is can you use another country bank statement, ie NZ bank.

Doing this means i only need living expenses here, not the full funds in baht. It also means there is no minimum funds kept, nor any maturity time for funds in the bank. And i will get almost 2 years from this visa without any concerns before i have to repeat the process. At the moment there is no consideration for medical insurance, but i have that in place anyway.
