Thank you for reading and any replies. I am looking at OA retirement Visa options - 1. getting it in Australia will cost approximately 10000 baht plus the insurance requirement seems to be about 30000 baht..šŸ¤”

2. The other option is to come to Thailand on a 45 day Visa on arrival then pay somebody 30000 battery-> you get 15 months of retirement Visa, (tacked on to your 45 day free Visa entry), which includes a bank book and within that you have accident medical insurance ... is this all I need to do..??

Dear experts, once again it is time for me to get a new visa extension and I kindly ask for your advice. I am an Austrian holder of a Non Imm 0 A visa ( granted 2018) and live on yearly extensions (latest one expires Sept. 29th). Now my insurer tells me that there might be changes in the insurance requirements starting Sept. 1st. Does anyone know details about this or is it just the usual Thai blahblah? The next question: how long before expiry date can I get a next yearly extension and so maybe avoid any insurance problems? I would dearly appreciate your learned opinion. Thanks in advance!

Just wanted to say a big thanks to all for the helpful advice and guidance. Iā€™ve finally gone through the pre-flight visa/CoE application process and wanted to give any newcomers my experience:

- Iā€™m a UK citizen back home at present. Iā€™ve applied to return to Thailand with the STV (90days extendable 2x).

- obtained medical insurance cover from Tune for B20k (for 180 days cover) on 19Feb to start the process (policy schedule issued);

- submitted my e-visa application on 22Feb. Visa fee was Ā£60. This was approved next day;

- passport mailed to Embassy in London by Special Mail and visa issued on 25th; passport received back by me next day;

- submitted application for CoE pre-approval with indicative ASQ hotel and proposed flight. This was approved on 28th (a Sunday!)

- confirmed my ASQ hotel reservation (Furama Silom, cost B32k) and booked return flight (Qatar Airways from London to Bangkok via Doha, cost Ā£483) and submitted all these confos for final approval and CoE issuance on 29th. CoE was issued by the Embassy less than an hour after submission!

- took my Covid PCR test at Boots yesterday and received certificate with negative results today (cost Ā£120). Recommended with easy booking at your nearest Boots which offers the testing service;

- made on-line request to ā€œGogodocā€ and had a 5 minute telephone consultation with a U.K. registered GP at 4:20pm this afternoon with Fit to Fly certificate issued within the hour (cost Ā£72.50). Recommended for responsive service from U.K. based GP pool. Cost is comparable with other U.K. providers of the FtF.

So, this whole process has taken me less than 2 weeks. Thai Embassy in London quickly

approved my visa and CoE. The result of the PCR test was provided within 24 hours. My FtF certificate quickly issued today. So, I will now fly back to Bangkok from Heathrow on Saturday afternoon. Then to endure a 14 day quarantine!

Hello People

I would love to ask a few questions for my friend. He is from the US and attempting to apply for the tourist visa.

1. should he get the ticket and ASQ before filing the online form?

1. after finish filing the online form does he has to wait or can he file all the needed documents to the Royal Thai Embassy in LA immediately?

1. can any doctor sign the Fit to Fly certificate?

1. anybody the get the visa, how long did it actually take to get it ? (if planning to file the visa around next week and book a ticket for Dec 23 will it be too risky?)

1. can you suggest any medical insurance for the visa?

Thank you in advance
