DTV Language Course in Chiang Rai

Hi everyone! I came across the alternative of taking a language+culture course to qualify for DTV Soft Power route. Has anybody done this (specifically in Chiang Rai)? Thank you!
Answer summary
The discussion centers around the possibility of qualifying for a DTV visa through a language and culture course in Chiang Rai. While some members recommend language schools and cultural programs, others caution that such programs may be seen as educational rather than qualifying for the DTV visa, which typically recognizes clear cultural programs like cooking and Muay Thai. Several users have pointed out that while language schools might offer culture courses, the official qualification requirements for DTV visas are not clearly defined, leading to potential rejection risks. Recommendations include contacting ISSA for guidance due to their success rates and providing a discount coupon for their services.

TSL Chiangmai has DTV program with Thai cultural class and with supplemental Thai language learning

I considered something similar when I applied. I was using an agent in the process.

Language schools do not qualify for DTV. The qualifier is the cultural program; the language part is just something they add to it. I thought this would be a great way to go. The challenge, as pointed out by my agent, is that it could be seen as a language program by the Embassay and be rejected.

This is one challenge with soft power as they are not clearly defined, except for cooking and Muai Thai.

The Agent I worked with is ISSA. They have a solid success rate and back it up with a guarantee. They told me that they would process with the cultural/language program if I wanted, but would not guarantee results; meaning if I got rejected they would not refund or resubmit for free. Instead, they recommended Muai Thai or cooking with guaranteed results. I took their advice and all went smoothly.

BTW… ISSA is great. Here is a coupon for - discount on their service: I1S94UKY

you can do it, but you may have some challenges getting approval. The real problem is that the catagory is not clearly defined. Muai Thai and cooking are clear, used as examples. However, other programs are not clear. However, language is clearly not part of the DTV options. Language programs are for ED visas. That is why the program you mentioned could be a risk; the Embassy may deny assuming it is a language program and wrong visa.

ISSA is great; you set up an account and ask them questions. You pay after all documents are complete before they submit and you can set up a consultation call with them. I got my questions answered before I paid, so it is a win win. The board here is great, but they do this professionally and have a legal team who can advise on the best course.

temple culture studying does not qualify for the DTV visa. Which is what forum members are wanting to get.

In 8 years in Thailand, I have never come across such a combination. Learning about the culture happens in temples, while learning the language happens in language schools.

it's happening. And several Thai language schools have added the Thai Culture course of study to the language course to qualify for the DTV visa.
