Hi all, not sure if this will be allowed by admin as it’s not strictly visa related. I entered Thailand on 11 Jan on a non O Visa - thanks largely to this group for great advice and guidance.

Purpose of visa was to open a bank account ( again thanks for advice in this group) to finalise my brother’s financial affairs- my brother lived in Chiang Mai and was killed in a motorcycle incident. I closed my brother’s account and transferred funds across, there is also compensation payout to come. My question is has anyone transferred a large sum of money internationally and what cost am I likely to pay ?

I live in Australia for context Any advice much appreciated thanks 🙏

Did Bangkok Bank notify you in any way? Or just your card and scan stopped working?

If they closed your account...do they let you transfer it to another (foreign)bank?

If you get cash...where do you move it to and how?

Thank you for any advise.
