Non-O single to multiple entry

I have a non-O (family) single entry visa and entered TH back in mid August. While I wait to have it extended in November, I need to travel in-and-out of TH.

Can I get the multiple entry on my current visa at BKK Suvarnabhumi on departure or does it need to be requested at IM office in Bangkok, prior to departure?

And will I have to again reapply for multiple entry once my non-O is extended in November?

Thanks!
Answer summary
A user with a Non-O (family) single entry visa is inquiring whether they can convert it to a multiple entry visa at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok or if they must request it at the immigration office prior to departure. They also seek clarification on whether they will need to reapply for a multiple entry once their visa is extended in November. Community members clarify that a re-entry permit can be purchased at the airport, which allows re-entry during the valid period of the current visa, but does not extend the original 90-day stamp. A new re-entry permit will be required upon extension of the visa.

The re-entry permit will only be valid for the current stamp you're on and once you apply for a yearly extension you will have to buy a new reentry permit which will be valid for that year

Keep in mind buying a reentry permit does not add any days to your current 90-day stamp.

But you certainly can buy one which will give you the ability to exit reenter for the original 90 days that stamp was issued for and not lose it when you stamp out

no problem at all buying a re-entry permit at Suvarnabhumi, the re-entry counter is open

out there. You can pay 1200baht (200more than the actual cost) and you don't need a photo, form or copies :)

Tell the officer when you stamp out you need a re-entry permit

a multiple re-entry permit is 3800 baht (4000baht at the airport) just get that if you're needing to leave/re-enter that many times during your 90 day stamp

Also remember you can apply for an extension when you have 30 days or less left on your current stamp

I will need multiple re-entries, but maybe not more than three. Can one get multiple single re-entry permits on the same stamp?

Vladimir Pavlovic you only need a single re entry if it’s only one trip then when you extend get a multi re entry
