Some say only if you have been to another district, but most say only if you have been out of the country.

A hotel will submit a report of your stay. So, my experience is, if you need something from immigration they will wonder when you came back home. You won’t be able to do anything with them until you submit a new report for staying at home.

Bangkok does not require reporting of staying domestic. If you’re not returning to a registered address that might be a question for Immigration directly.

No you dont, the law was changed in june 2020 (royal gazzette) and state if you leave your register home you not need reregister when you back, same applies if you hold a reentry permit and fly out of Thailand, you not need register for TM 30 if return to same adress.

Do you have a link to that as your right that a domestic stay don’t require a TM30 update anymore but an international travel requires a new TM30 registration on returning back into Thailand.

Gerar Teuben Of course i have, and where i live the immigration handles this according to the Law, my TM 30 is almost 6 years old and immigration say no need new as long return to same adress, last extension was in august this year.

If it’s a small / rural hotel and they don’t ask for your passport

Whilst not correct ( they should register your stay at immigration )

You will be fine
