I'm currently on A non imm visa based on marriage, I already have a bank account and i just park the 400k thb without withdrawing it. How much would my yearly renewals be? for context i have a Singaporean passport
It appears you are not looking for anything long term - you are simply concerned that your visit is 3 days over your allowance. Just get an extension in Thailand - very easy to do at your local immigration office. Your biggest problem may be that your airline may not let you board with an outbound flight that is over the 30 days you are allowed. You may need to buy a cheap throwaway ticket out of Thailand dated within your 30 days - ask the airline.
“88,000 baht for Siam to apply for a marriage visa”*** wrong wording!*** actually, your statement does not cover anything related with the process of applying or aquiring an alleged “marriage visa”, but rather walk through the whole process that finalizes with a “1-year extension of the stay permit based on being married to a Thai wife”.This one year stay permit is NOT a visa.*** the 88,000 THB agent price includes all the “tea money” that must be paid to officials so they ignore that you and the agent are breaking a few laws.*** You did not enter on the correct visa, you entered visa-exempt, which means that under existing laws, you cannot get a Thai bank account opened. The agent bribes a few people and can do it for you, and this bribery is included in those 88,000 THB. *** You cannot change from a touristic entry to an initial 90-days Non-Imm-O Marriage Visa without an already existing bank account with 400,000 THB already sitting in it. The agent bribes a few people and can do it for you, and this bribery is included in those 88,000 THB.*** moreover, if you don’t use your own funds of 400,000 THB but need the agent to front the money, more officials have to turn a blind eye. The agent bribes a few officials and can do it for you, and this bribery is included in those 88,000 THB. *** Honestly, why would you even think about such a tea-money plastered way to achieve your 1-year stay permit based on a marriage?Just enter on the correct 90- days Non-Imm-O Family Visa, get stamped in for a 90-days stay permit, then get your Thai bank account opened fully legally, transfer your own 400,000 THB into it. Then after the deposit has seasoned for 2 months, apply for the 1-year extension of the stay permit. The fee for this application is 1900 THB.*** In case you needed help by an agent for the bank account opening (on the correct visa!) such a service should not cost more than 5000 to 8000 Baht.*** In case you needed help by an agent for the application to the 1-year extension, such a service should not cost much more than 12-14,000 THB and it should include a single re-entry permit.*** You have been offered a couple of perfect fully LEGAL deals from TVC, I would grab the chance to this convenience, before I tried it all by myself.
The visa assistance offered by SIAM is for the 90 day Non-O Marriage visa and appears to incorporate assistance through all stages from the 90 day visa application, opening a bank account to deposit your 400,000 baht in to season, then afterwards to apply for the 12 months extension of stay based on marriage to a Thai national. This isn’t something you’d accomplish in 33 days unless you go down this route, get your bank account and funds in place to season within the beginning of the 33 days, then apply for a re-entry permit to re-enter Thailand during the remainder of the 90 day validity to complete the 12 months extension of stay process. I suggest you read up on things and understand what is involved and required.
Donald Campbell if you apply for marriage visa. And show £1400 month income over recent 6 months. You dont have to deposit 400,000 thb. I know bin there done that.
Get an evisa online or get an extension at an immigration office depending on what visa you qualify and apply for. An O based on Marriage online is $80 USD. A tourist 60 day is $40 USD. An extension on a 30 day visa exempt in Thailand at an immigration office is ฿1,900. But your ticket has a built in overstay. To reduce issues with the airline and immigration, get a visa online or change your return date to 30 days.
You'll get better replies about the correct visa, but I couldn't help but ask about that opening statement re 88,000 baht. I don't think many people would have paid anywhere like this amount,... So, if you would be so kind, can you explain further?
Blake Pilch It’s expensive. You can get a 60 day tourist visa yourself. Your marital status is irrelevant unless you are looking for, say, a non O for marriage.
Blake Pilch you'll get different answers from people who are very "pro" DIY for visas (Cheap Charlies like me.. 😅) versus those who don't have so much spare time, so would normally use an agent.
All I'd suggest is follow the advice by others here about visas which suit your visit, but, for marriage visa, if you eventually want to get one, I'd arrange it while you're in Thailand.
Samui?... Immigration Office at Maenam are pretty efficient.
Blake Pilch no it’s not. A 60 day tourist visa applied for online is around 40 dollars. Paying 88.000 baht for a visa just to visit 33 days would be crazy.
1) If you're only staying for 33 days and are short on time, the easiest option is to arrive on a 30 day exemption (no visa) and obtain a 30-day extension at immigration in Thailand for 1,900 THB. Alternatively, we can handle everything for an additional 3,100 THB, including door-to-door service, so you don't need to visit immigration yourself.
2) If you're outside Thailand and have time before your trip, you can apply for a 60-day Tourist (TR) Visa yourself through the official government e-Visa website.
3) If you're outside Thailand and planning to apply for a marriage or retirement visa, we recommend applying for your initial Non-O visa yourself before arriving. This can make opening a Thai bank account easier, and if you later decide to use an agency for your yearly extension, fees are significantly lower, typically around 14,000-30,000 THB depending on your situation.
4) Overstay and pay the 1,500 thb fine (not recommended, and can turn into a serious issue if you run into trouble during those 3 days).
#3 is what I think my wife will do for our next trip. We are coming to Thailand so I can get my Thai ID and passport. We want her to open a bank account with the least amount of bureaucracy.
