Seeking advice from this group regarding proof of income for Non O thai wife visa renewal. Previously we used 400,000 baht in bank account, but I want to free up that money and switch to my Social Security income from the USA, which meets the income requirement. How do I show proof of income to immigration?

TLDR : Answer Summary
This conversation addresses the steps involved in proving Social Security income for the renewal of a Non O visa for a Thai wife. It discusses previous requirements of maintaining a 400,000 baht deposit and how to transition to using Social Security income as proof. Key points include the necessity to show 40,000 baht deposited monthly into a Thai bank account for the past 12 months and ensure proper documentation of international transfers. The importance of direct deposits from Social Security to a Thai bank is also highlighted.

Unfortunately, how to transfer your funds from whatever source to a Thai account is not really In the scope of this group. If you want to know detail about Wise (previous transfers) options, try a group about it such as TransferWISE Solutions Thailand.

My bad, should have given details.....

SS benefits have been deposited directly to Transferwise and, from there, transferred to my Thai bank consecutively for at least the past 12 months.

Benjamin Hays not sure. Transferwise converts from USD to Thai baht first. Then the Thai baht is transferred. I think we need to ask other American retirees whether or not they have been successful with this. Surely someone has already been down this path.

Social Security from yhe US will deposit direcrly into Bangkok Bank direct deposit each month with no exchange rate fees. Afterwards transfer it into your fixed BB account. If u have not done so talk to SS in the Phillipines and they will set you up really fast. If not and you are transfering money another way, good luck as u have to show it being transfered each month for a year. BB shows the international transfer code on the bank book.

I think social security can be directly deposited into any Thai bank now.

Have you been transferring/depositing at least 40,000 + Thai baht onto your Thai bank account for the prior 12 months?
James ********
Its not that easy...as you will have to show proof of 40,000 Thai baht being deposited into your Thai bank account for the prior 12 months...to be able to change from the current method of 400,000 Thai baht deposit.
