Hi, will have to renew my visa based on taking care of my Thai son.
Have the 400k in the bank but have to buy something so would like to know if my salary could be accepted by immigration for proof of funds ?
Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry seeks clarification on whether a salary can serve as proof of funds for a visa renewal related to caring for a Thai child. According to community responses, if you're a parent, you must either have an average annual income of at least 40,000 Baht per month or have 400,000 Baht deposited in a Thai bank. If employed legally in Thailand, you need to provide documentation of your salary for the last three months. If funds are from abroad, you must have regularly transferred money into a Thai bank account monthly for the past year. It is advised to consult with the local immigration office for specific documentation requirements.

You may want to go to your local immigration office to get the handout of requirements for your extension and check with the officer about what kind of documents exactly you need to provide to use monthly income method. Also check with your employer if theyβd provide what you need as well. Before you jump in to that way.

If you're working legally here (with a work permit etc) you need a minimum 40K baht a month salary and you show documentation from your employer for the last 3 months of employment.
IF you're not working here (as in your funds come from employment abroad) you need to transfer IN to a thai account in your name only a minimum of 40K baht a month, each month, every month for the previous 12 months before you apply for your next extension.
your work permit, your employment contract, the documents from your employer that shows they employ enough thaiz to offset you working there.
It's a PILE of paperwork
Before you need to get the extension I'd strongly suggest you slog on out to the immigration office and get the complete list of documents needed to meet the proof of funds from employment inside the country.
also remember IF you're applying for an extension based on a half thai child the DAY they turn 20 is the day you get the extension issued until. (if they're gonna turn 20 this year) So really think hard which way to go on it so you get the year
