Found a house near Hua Hin area that finally feels right — big space, rare 2 master bedrooms, perfect setup. Owner dropped rent from 45k to 35k/month with 1 month free, but only if we cover repainting, deep clean, small repairs, and all new furniture (looking like 100k+ upfront). If it were turnkey it’d probably go for 55–70k. We do plan to stay long term, but not sure if the landlord will be reliable since he’s pushing all work on us. Would you take it at 35k + repairs, or keep searching?
We are looking at getting DTV and going Phuket way.
Any recommendation?
We an are ~30 couple, British and Canadian. We like peacefulness, walking distance to massage places, gyms and spas etc, also good amenities like cinema etc.
Also how much cost $ is it roughly to furnish a 3 bed house 🙂
We are looking to relocate to Thailand via the DTV soft power, ideally in May-June. We have the required funds and stable online income. Our plan was to go for 60 days under tourist visa, look at different areas and decide where we'd fit best as well as locating schools in that area. Then possibly flying to Vietnam to apply for the DTV. What do you do for housing without actually having a long term visa? Just rent short term, pay for classes and hope for the best? Just wondering everyones experiences, and recommended course of action.
Hi Folks! Just joined today, have lived in Thailand before {Koh Phangan}, coming back in October. Staying in Pattaya/Jomtien for the first year, may I ask what is the preferred Apartment .listing site?
Hi everyone! I am kinda new here and hopefully some of you can give me some advice concerning renting a studio or small appartment in Bangkok. I am traveling to Bangkok with a non O based on retirement arranged in my home country the Netherlands. I booked a hotel for a month in the Phra Nakhon district. During that month i will be able to look around concerning renting a studio/small appartment in the BKK area. I would prefer to live in a local area on a street level. Last year i visited Thonburi, west of the Chao Phraya river, and i loved that area. Distance to public transportation is not really an issue for me. My standards are basic. A small furnished studio for 1 person with airco would fit me perfect. I guess airco is unbeatable in BKK….
What is the best strategy to find a studio in BKK? Do you use the internet or do you suggest to walk around in an certain area and just explore if something is available? Recommended internet sites to search for a studio? Accompanying a thai speaking person or will english be sufficient?
I would appreciate any suggestions from you all!
Have a great sunday and thanks for reading my post.
We are a retired couple plans to move to Bangkok. Our monthly pension and rental income is about USD 3,000.- is the amount enough to comfortably live in BKK?
