How can I effectively manage cockroach problems in condo complexes in Jomtien?

My cats kill anything that enters my home.

Get a team of house geckos.

If your neighbours are dirty you'll see cockroaches from time to time. And even if you're spotless you'll probably see a few. Especially during the rainy season.

Your choice is cockroaches or lizard shit. I don't want to poison the ching-chocks but can't find a humane gadget that traps them.

If you want a chemical-free option, then use DE powder (Diatomaceous Earth). This powder dehydrates them, and they die. Foam insulation on the bottom of external doors also denies them easy access. Cockroaches need water, so they often nest in the back of fridges where they get access to the evaporation tank.

Cooked in soy oil with a little salt works 🤔

Florida cockroach expert here..... first off if you think cockroaches don't live outside that means you don't know anything about cockroaches at all.

Seconds if you think you're going to get rid of cockroaches from a condo you are sadly mistaken. You can be as clean as you want and have cockroach traps in the corner of every room and it's not going to matter because all it takes is that one person that leaves food out and they will keep multiplying and spreading throughout the entire complex there really is nothing much you can do except live with them

Getting rid of cockroaches isn't impossible but very very difficult or impossible. There's a lot of companies making a lot of stuff that will kill a couple of cockroaches but will not get rid of them. In fact they are going to get rich off you constantly buying different products and killing a few but it does absolutely nothing in the long run because you have to do one big long job of killing them and more importantly what you have to understand is not killing the Cockroaches but killing the cockroach eggs. You can kill all of the Cockroaches and then more will appear you have to use special chemicals and fumigation so that it gets carried around in the air and lands on everything and kills everything. It's kind of like getting rid of termites the only thing that really works is to tent the entire house and fumigated and that's basically a similar thing with cockroaches. You can't just spray here and there you have to fumigate the entire house so that all of the cockroaches get killed and then all of the eggs get killed and then you start cleaning up and what you should be doing before that also is sealing your house. Sealing all the cracks that the animals get in and out of. I used to sell lots of stuff on Facebook and Craigslist even Furniture sometimes and I've heard many stories of people that have bought furniture used and then had cockroaches or termites because specially with wood furniture the termites have gotten into the wood and then go into a new house and now they start eating the wood in the new house and you have to tent the house. Again there's tons of products you can buy that people are willing to sell you that do not solve the problems but instead kill a few cockroaches and then you have to buy more of it which is a very very smart business plan on their end because you keep the customer coming back and buying more of your product.

Cockroaches can easily live outside all year in Northern Thailand. To kill them off temperatures would need to drop below -10°C, although they won't like below +10°C. If anything, they are more likely to enter warm homes, when its cold outside.

Oh and don't forget, they can fly through open windows...

High floors don't help at all. Crawling insects will get everywhere, regardless. I had termites on a very high floor recently and had to replace my wardrobe as they eat right through it. I also get some cockroaches even though the corridors are sprayed monthly by a pest control company.

The only valid solution is poison. Your choice of chemical sprays or somewhat safer things like borax. I use both and I still find at least one live cockroach every week, though they are very small.

I remember living in an apartment complex in which we had cockroaches and the understanding we eventually got was once a unit was infested, everyone was infested. Time to call in pest control!

High floor and pest control helps against big ones, the small ones are incredibly resilient and almost nothing works on them. Check the cabinets, hard to clean areas, and hood vent for any sign of live roaches or poop - also check the garbage room - if you see any live ones then don't rent it because the whole floor is infested. If you're unfortunate to already have an infestation and can't move yet then the only thing that helps control them is hoy hoy traps. Baits, gels, sprays, even professional pest control - don't help at all.

Seen several vids on how to make cockroach control mix with common ingredients like baking soda...

Lived in TW Resort on top floor a couple of years back and the little roaches were terrible there

If you have cockroaches sprinkle pure Boric Acid powder in cupboards and on worktops and edge of floor at walls

When the roaches go back to their nest the other roaches clean off the powder and it rots the skeletons of the roaches
