Anyone know the Cost of a Visa on arrival in Laos, Vientiane for a US national?

Received DTV successfully within 3 working days in Jakarta. Happy Dance 🎉

I submitted a personal bank statement, company bank statement, company registration and company letter.

Note that applications are only accepted between 9am to 11am, Mon to Thurs. If you come in the afternoon, you will be turned away.

I was going to get a 6month multi entry visa as I am going to be in thailand for 5 months... I'm in New Zealand and they have just changed to evisa system. So the 6month visa that used to cost $350nzd 2 weeks ago is now $1000nzd... is there a more cost effective way to stay in thailand for 5months other than that visa... unfortunately I'm 49 but turn 50 in August so can't go down that route as I'd only be in thailand for 40 days after my birthday. I just can't believe the massive price increase.... What are others paying for a 6month multi entry??

With a Non O retirement Visa, what is the cost for the single & multiple re-entries back into Thailand at Phuket international airport immigration?

Any idea how long it would take to do this at Phuket international airport?

Any necessary paperwork needed?... I would hate to arrive at the airport already without flight ticket in hand and not have the correct paperwork...😲

Hello group, just got back from getting my non-o multi entry for Thai marriage in Savanakhet. I Did airasia fly and ride from bangkok to Nakhon panom then Mukdahan arriving 9:30pm. I stayed at hotel MUQ which was very nice and clean right at the bus station. In the morning around 8:30am I headed to the border, left same day my visa expires no problems

50 baht for the bus ticket across the border

1,800 baht for the visa on arrival to Laos plus one photo needed

200 baht taxi to Thai embassy by 10:15.

Paperwork required:

Visa application and 2 photos

Copy of my passport main page and the Laos visa page(signed)

Copy of wife’s housebook and ID card front and back( both signed by her)

Copy of wife’s passport(not signed by accident but I I told the guy right away I forgot and he said it didn’t matter)

Copy of marriage certificate and the original to just show them (not signed)

5000baht in and out in less than 5 minutes.

Next day checked out of Avalon 2 Hotel (perfectly fine for 450baht and walking distance to embassy)

Sat at the new macchiato hotel cafe right across from embassy until 2pm, only about 10 people in line, got my passport and 200baht taxi back across the border by 15:30. 100baht to pay the immigration officer in Laos (?) and 55baht for the bus back over the river. Another 200 for the tuk tuk to Mukdahan for the fly and ride at 17:00 no problems.

Thanks for everyone’s advice on my previous posts to figure this out, I honestly can’t imagine ever bothering with the 1 year extension in country now that I can just do this over and over, it was too easy and it’s nice to get back into travel mode after the last few years.

For more than 3 decades I have lived in Thailand and not-so-patiently endured the trials of yearly visa renewal. Through the years I have had different kinds of visas and for the last several years my wife and I have been on retirement visas. I have always dreaded the experience of visa renewal and interacting with immigration offices. Depressing, frustrating and emotionally stressful.

But because I speak the language and I am a baht-pinching miser, I have always braved the mountains of paper work, waiting in long lines and large amounts of wasted time by doing it myself. No lawyers or visa agencies for this hard-headed farang! After all, when my number one concern is how much money I can save, 1,900 baht for a year long retirement visa is a sweet deal. (And yes, I do have to have 800,000 baht in a Thai bank account, but at least that is still MY money.)

But recently I have begun to reconsider my miserly position toward visa renewal. Near the latter part of last year my youngest daughter returned to Thailand. (She is an adult who holds a USA passport.) She came into Thailand on a tourist visa intending to do “border runs” whenever she needed to extend her time in Thailand. But as you all know, the covid shut downs have put an end to border runs.

So to make a long story short, she decided to go with a visa agency in order to be able to stay long term in Thailand. She paid an agency 60,000 baht and received a 15 month visa. At first I thought that she had more money than good sense. But as I have looked at what was involved, I am beginning to change my mind.

The ONLY thing she had to do was give her passport and one photo to the visa agency. (Along with the 60,000 baht.) And after that, the agency did EVERYTHING. They did it quickly and very efficiently. No mountains of paper work. No running here and there trying to get the correct forms. No signing piles of papers over and over again. No waiting in any lines. No travel expense or wasted time. No stressful interaction with immigration officers. I never knew getting a visa could be so effortless Amazing.

I will most likely continue doing my visa renewals on my own and pay only 1,900 baht per year for my visa. But I will never again think that using a visa agency is a foolish or “not cost effective” idea. Of course it is a subjective call for each person to decide if it is “worth it” or not. But if you can easily afford the cost of a visa agency, you may end up saving yourself a world of hassle by doing it the “easy” way.

Will be extending my non-b visa for 12 months in January after having been here 15 months. Advice requested regarding cost of this. My accountant at work says it is 15,000 baht paid to immigration office. Wanting confirmation before handing over any money.

Hello from Ireland. I have been offered a job in Thailand and just wanted some advice. The company have told me that I need a non b visa and work permit. They say this will cost me 12,800 bhat. They want a scanned copy of my passport and two passport photos for immigration. Would immigration not need my original? Also if I wait until I arrive would I have to leave the country to process It? Do it only take between 4-5 working days to process?

Sorry for all the questions. It's a huge move for me and just want everything right. Thanks in advance.
