Hi, I am applying for my wife's 2nd 2.5 year partner visa and they are asking if I have children with another person. I have one daughter from a previous relationship and have had standard access since she was born. Nothing changed when me and my now wife got married 2.5 years ago. Visa application Gov.uk is asking loads of questions about my daughter and then asking for evidence of my wife's contact with my daughter. Also a written signed letter from my ex saying its ok, also utility bills from where my daughter lives with my ex!!! Never seen this before! What the hell! Who asks their Ex to help them with their new wife's visa! There are no issues at all with my daughter visiting us. But I still dont really want my ex in our private business (Visa application) Can anyone advise on this bit. Can I ignore the request for signed letters and utility bills etc?
Hey all, I’m planning of snowbirding every winter (November to May) in Thailand on a yearly basis (given that I like the first year, which I’m sure I will but you never know!)
I’m Canadian living in Canada right now but am looking for advice on DTV, I have the $15k for 3+ months proof requirement. Is this the biggest hurdle I am to expect with trying to apply or is there more? I can always come as a tourist and border hop this year if I face issues, wondering what other digital nomads are doing.
Lastly, my girlfriend is not a remote freelancer like me, but she does have the 15k evidence in her account. How do you guys typically deal with partners for these types of plans?
I don’t want any trouble with Thailand and border hopping is just as a temporary resort while I get things in order for the long run, but I do prefer options that have 0 risk.
Recently married to my Thai partner...🙏. Registered etc in Thailand.👍
Looking at a Partner Visa to Australia, she has been twice on a tourist visa but I feel she is not ready for settling here, Australia is not good, will miss her family, food, culture etc (she is 44)... I want out, plus the process is fkn expensive.
I feel it is better that I move over there (I'm 54). Work in Western Australia, mining (for years) and feel that I'm better to continue this from a financial perspective. What is my best option? What is the best visa I should go for? I would need, probably need 1 month work in Australia, 1 month in Thailand...and that good vary....could be 3 weeks of work, 6 weeks in Thailand...
Look forward to anyone who does this, has experience in this situation...🙏
I am self employed in Germany and have a "company registration" (Gewerbeschein). As far as i understood everything, i should be eligible to apply for a DTV. Does anyone know if it might be possible for me to hire my partner on a small income (450€ Minijob) to make her also eligible to apply for a DTV?
sharing my experience of applying for my Partner's DTV visa as a digital nomad/business owner.
Applied on a saturday through Thai Embassy in Manila, early monday morning got a message from them asking for additional documents and we submitted them immediately, on the same day the status changed to pending approval and we got the DTV visa the next day (Tuesday).
Documents we submitted:
1. Passport Copy (US passport)
2. Photo
3. 6 months bank statement
4. Proof of residence in PH
> Visa Extension Slip
> Electricity & Rent Bill
5. Photo of latest arrival in PH stamp
6. Cover letter mentioning the documents we submitted and explaining her current residency in PH and her interest for applying for the DTV visa
7. A letter explaining how her business would run while she is in thailand (detailed business description
8. Business license/permit from the State of Nevada
Additional docs. They requested
1. CV/Resume
2. Screenshot of her company website as proof the business is active.
The letters we submitted were in her company's letter head which she signed as the owner.
Overall, the process of applying for the DTV visa was super quick and easy in comparison to other visa applications I had to apply for back when I was working for my old boss as a PA and handling their visa applications.
If you have any questions, I suggest reaching out to the Thai embassy in Manila. They were really friendly, helpful and helped clarified my confusion about what type of documents I should submit to satisfy the additional requirement docs. they asked for.
P.S: added the screenshot of the official list of documents that the Thai Embassy in Manila listed on their website.
I have a Thai girlfriend, known for 3 years, travelled back and forward to see her. She has spent 3 mths in Australia on tourist Visa last year. I am now looking at a Partner Visa so she can live with me in Australia. What is your advice on whether to get her to apply from Thailand or I do all the paper work from here. I used a Thai Visa Agent to get Tourist Visa to make sure I made no mistakes. Any constructive advice would be appreciated.
Looking for your recommendation, based on your posititive personal experience, on a Thai based Visa agent (ideally Jomptien, Pattaya or Bangkok) so I can obtain a Partner Visa for my Thai Partner for Australian residency.
She currently has a 1 year Australian Visitors Visa.
She is still based in Thailand and I am in Oz with the usual back and forth Thai - Oz travel.
I have done the predictable internet searches, reviews etc but would prefer direct recommendations based on your personal experiences.
My lady of almost 2 years and i are about to make application for her to travel to Australia
Shes on her 3 passport for travel to other countries mostly italy
Wondering if best moove is a tourist visa. A spouse visa partner visa. Or should i marry the girl if it makes it easier for her to come to Australia ?? Ive been told marriage visa is so much more expensive than other options.
Any advise on a successful application would be appreciated
I assume that shes travelled in the past may be an advantage
But also well aware Australia is tough to get into even though ive paid my taxes my whole life they choose who and were i can have a partner
If it makes any difference i hold a thai retirement visa mutiple entry drivers licence in Thailand etc 🤷
