How long should funds be in my account for a Thailand DTV application, and can I sponsor my partner?

Hi everyone. Would love some advice please - on how long the money has to be in the account, for a DTV? I've got enough now, but have only had it in my account for a few days.

I would be wanting to live in Chiang Mai. Currently in Hanoi, but could also apply from my hometown in the UK. Which is the most likely way to get approved?

Also, my unmarried partner (we have a child together), can I sponsor him to get one, too? We only have enough money in account for one person... is it possible to apply myself (with our child as dependent) and then to sponsor him to get one after?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The community discusses the financial requirements for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) application for Thailand, mentioning that funds need to be in the account for varying periods depending on the country of application, with suggestions for at least 3 months in some cases. It's advised that applying from the UK may be easier due to less stringent financial rules. Unmarried partners cannot be sponsored for a visa, but a child can be included as a dependent. It is recommended to apply for the DTV first and possibly transfer funds to the partner for a subsequent application.

likely 6 months of statements, and not 6 months of seasoning the 500k

It is suggested that the UK application is easier to pass.

You would need to apply and once you are approved you could apply for the child with you sponsoring them. You can't sponsor a partner, only a spouse, so they would need to sort themselves out.

In the UK approvals are given with a non seasoned final balance of 500K

Vietnam has done the same but recently has toughened up on approvals, you should double check with Hanoi if they need the 500k THB to be seasoned.

LivelyJaguar5434 Yeah, approvals given for same day deposits. Vietnam used to be similar but they have tightened up of late on approvals l. You should email them firstly double check if they need seasoned funds

Only marriage counts for visas in Thailand. Partners dont.

You can’t sponsor your partner, but can sponsor your child’s application. Need to check other’s posts to see how many months Hanoi requires. Long ways to travel back to the UK though

If you get back to the UK you can apply there. It will probably be much easier financially

You could apply for yours when/ if approved you could transfer funds to your partner and he could apply. Thereafter you can apply for the dependent visa

The financial requirements time is much easier in the UK. Other countries obviously differ.
