I have the stamp for underconsideration being for 1 year extension of stay based on marriage. Been doing this for 10 years now. Today recieved a phone call from immigration wanting an update on bankbook. The required funds have always been in the bank and on appplication for extension letters from the bank were produced as required along with all the other documents required. This year was the first time the immigration police did not come to our home as they normally do after application. So it seems like they are now checking on funds whilst under consideration. I went to the bank to update the bankbook at the ATM and supplied copies to immigration of which they wanted the same day Immigration in my province. did say that Immigration in BKK is making it harder. All documents are sent to BKK for approval. So lets see what happens now.

Hi guys just like to say I got my Extension of Stay stamped in my passport (marriage) and a re-entry permit today. Pattani Immigration Office.

And I asked a few questions that I have been confused about and this Thai Visa Advice may have been a little confused about.

So Questions asked from me to do with EofS (marriage)

1. About Handouts (what you need for application) and process explained for your EofS marriage and related questions.

I asked if the handout shows everything you need to hand in at your application date? He said yes and he went and got one and it was as it’s always been and standard from what I’ve always done and shown.

2. To do with Under Consideration Stamp.

Why and what is the reason for the Under Consideration stamp? He’s reply. On the date you pay and put your application in to immigration office needs time to examine and checked the paperwork is correct at the time of the application with the issues of the paperwork if necessary. This doesn’t happen overnight. This is to check and why you sign everything single piece of paper in your application. You are saying it’s not false and it is true on that date. If we find a mistake or something maybe more serious we will contact you to do with what we think is wrong with the application paperwork and discuss if it can be corrected. Or for a more serious reason of not issuing and rejecting the person EofS (marriage) application

Then I asked about the ฿400,000 seasoning time is ? he said it’s 2 months.

I then asked when coming back to get my EofS inked in what do I have to bring with me? He said what you brought with you today. This was myself and my passport.

Then I asked if the paperwork was all correct. Is there any reason why I should have keep the ฿400,000 seasoned money after the 2 months? He said NO. And pointed to the handout and process.

He asked why I had asked? I said because I hear people giving advice saying you should.

He’s replied with a smile and said you are obviously not get correct advice.

Being married means you could need the money immediately after the 2 months seasoning for a number of personal family reasons or emergency.

If for some reason they wanted to see your bank book again for any reason as long as you can prove it was season for the 2 months the day after that you can do what you like with it. This would have been looked at on the day of application. So as long as that was not false on that day. You are ok to do what you like.

Happy Days hope this advice helps

Went to immigrations yesterday with my wife in Phichit . Submitted all the paperwork for my one year extension, and received my under consideration stamp. My 90 day visa expires on January 31. The immigration officer put a date of March 1 on my under consideration stamp. She said that the, under consideration stamp must be 30 days after the expiration of my visa. So I am assuming that the under consideration stamp is acting like a 30 day extension to my visa. Is that correct? One other question when my one year extension gets approved will it be one year from the date that I applied or one year from the date that it was approved?

Is the immigration office flexible for a few days when it comes to the "under consideration" stamp, since at the end of 30 days under consideration period, I need to leave thailand for a few days, not that the "report back" coincidences while I'm out of country.

My now: Visa is non immigrant Business.

I just received my 'Under Consideration' (UC) stamp in anticipation of receiving my 1-year extension on my Non-Immigrant O (spousal) visa.

My previous 90-day visa expires on the 17th April. I have a multiple re-entry permit already for this visa. My UC stamp asks me to return to (hopefully) get the extension on the 2nd May.

I need to travel out of Thailand twice in the next 30 days. Once from the 4th to the 6th April and again from the 14th to the 22nd April (these trips are essential).

Do I need a new re-entry permit for these two trips or does my existing re-entry permit cover me for the first? Does it even cover me for the second?

UPDATE: I went to Bluetree today for a fourth opinion. I went to great lengths to explain my question clearly but the short version is the Immigration Agent I spoke to told me I would not need a new re-entry permit until the date on my old one expired, then I should get a single re-entry permit for my second trip.

As I was about to leave the boss of the office shouted out 'Mai dai'. He then dived in and explained the first immigration agent was wrong, and as soon as I get the UC stamp my previous visa and its re-entry permit is cancelled so I need two new single re-entry permits or one multiple re-entry permit to travel during the UC period.

My conclusion is that no one, including immigration has a crystal clear picture of what I should do, but the safest option is to treat the UC stamp as a separate visa and get new re-entry stamps as required. Better too many than too few. Hope this helps people.

Thanks for those who provided useful input.

Hi all question. I’m going to get my EofS (Extension of Stay) today. Which starts with a Under Consideration Stamp. My Current EofS marriage expires 25/01/2023. This is what I will be renewing.

I will buy a multi re-entry permit while I’m there. Is it possible to leave Thailand while on a current Under Consideration stamp? TYIA

Sorry if this was asked before, can't seem to find a clear answer. What are the requirements for getting a one-year extension based on marriage (or being dependent) to a foreigner with a retirement visa/extension? Already have a Non-Imm O visa issued outside of Thailand. Does any proof of funds need to be provided? And how long does it take to get an extension? Do they give the "under consideration stamp" first? Thanks in advance 🙏

Hi! I was wondering what happens if you get an under consideration stamp and show up at immigration a day or two late? Does it count as an overstay? Does it void the visa? Are there any penalties at all?

Hello all, has anyone done the 60 day covid extension in Phuket Patong Immigration recently? I have only done in Bangkok successfully, but may be in Phuket for next extension soon. They aren't giving under consideration 30 days there are they? Thanks for any insight :)
