Am I right in believing that I won’t be able to leave the country while I have a under consideration stamp as my visa next year should be expiring 12th may 2027 and then I’ll get the under consideration stamp for 30 days then go and get the 11 month added to that date as extension non o. My aim is to fly to to UK around the 15may 2027 while on the under consideration next year.

You can leave the country while you have the under consideration stamp with a new re-entry permit BUT you have to be back in Thailand before the under consideration expiration date to collect your remaining 11 months.

Yes you can leave, but you need a reentry permit that you need to buy after the under consideration stamp has been placed in your passport. You need to return before that stamp expires and report to your local office to get your full stamp on the date specified for the under consideration stamp.

I have been under the consideration stamp and left the country. I got a re-entry permit and returned the day before the one month stamp was up. This was 4 years ago so just check with your local immigration.

If it expires 12 May 2027 apply up to 30 days before , get the under consideration stamp, home visit etc. Get your new 12 month stamp on 12 May get a re entry permit and clear off to the UK on May 15. No problem as I can see

but the under consideration stamp starts from the extension expiry date ? So applying 1 month early the under consideration stamp sits for 2 months

Craig White no if you apply 30 days early it starts then and you'll get the full 12 months inked in as stated above

Not correct, the 30 days under consideration starts from the expiration date of your current 1 year extension.

It will be up to your immigration office so you need to ask them, they may be willing to work around your timing if you are only leaving for a week or two. If they are you will need a re-entry permit which would only be good for the under consideration period.

Peter Weedall that’s also my problem as applying 1 month before then the under consideration stamp starts from the date of extension expiry for 30 days and in my passport 1 month earlier than extension expiry meaning I can’t fly for those 2 months
