Hello everyone, a silly question here but when one is advised to 'ask directly to your local IO', in my case Chaengwatthana. Where do you go and ask your questions directly?

I often find the front desk at the entry pretty much clueless and/or with a poor understanding.

Do I need to ask and probably disturb the officers at the counters inside, where people has a queue number already? Or is it there any useful information area in the building?

Thank you for your help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about where to ask questions directly at the Chaengwatthana immigration office, expressing frustration with the front desk's lack of knowledge. Comments suggest talking to specific officers at counters inside rather than the front desk and mention the possibility of making an appointment to avoid queues. The user is particularly interested in the flexibility of officers regarding extending the 'under consideration' stamp, pertinent to their Non-B visa status, and the timeline for the 'under consideration' period in relation to their application.

Thank you everyone for your help,

Basically this time I am trying to find out if officers at Chaengwatthana are flexible enough to extend, if I request, for a few days the "under consideration" stamp period as I need leave the country during these days for a family matter.

My current extension is valid until November 1st, they usually stamp 21 days, so that may give me a window until November 21st. Which I'm afraid is not enough.

And also, does this UC period runs from the day I will apply for a new extension or does it start on the expiration day?

I am under a Non-B extension and not married to a Thai and I plan to get a Re-entry at the airport.

@Hikuri *****
what are you seeking from Thai Immigration ?

You say it's NOT ๐Ÿšซ an extension based on Marriage to Thai...

Are you needing the One year extension as retired?

Or as Father of a Thai child ?

You could possibly make an appointment in order to avoid queing

That is a good valid question, and at the smaller offices you can just ask any officer because the workers do multiple tasks.

Now at the larger offices like the one in Bangkok that has multiple sections based on what you're doing and the officers in those sections doing only their specific task, you need to get to the section and talk to an officer in that section to get really good answers.

It's not always easy..

Many of the times when we say check with your immigration office it's for routine thing that is going to be office specific and you will not be the first foreigner asking about it at that immigration office believe me.
