I am currently on a Non-Immigrant O spousal with multi re-entry permit all expiring in April '26. I plan to switch to a DTV in December during a trip to the UK.

Do I need to actively cancel my Non-Imm O or does it simply get cancelled when I come back in on my DTV?

If I do need to cancel it how do I go about that?

Me again, I will be leaving Thailand at the end of September, late afternoon 30 Sept to be exact. I understand the Work Permit and Extention of Stay (both only expire on Feb next year), can be canceled on the same day, but one never knows with queues and traffic, etc, I'm worried about running out of time. I understand one can apply for a 7 day extension at B1900? Now my question: Wouldn't it be better to do it the Monday 29th September, then just pay the B500 overstay (hope I'm correct about the amount and procedure), I really don't need more time to "tie things up"? I might return to Thailand by next year May, or perhaps not, things are still up in the air! Any advice will be appreciated!

Sharing my experience around ED visa - Extension of Stay cancellation

I didn’t cancel my ED visa - Extension of Stay (one year language program at CMU) and I had multiple entry. I left Thailand with valid ED visa extension of stay , applied for the DTV visa in Cambodia. I got the DTV, then came back to Thailand. The immigration officer at the BKK ( Suvarnabhumi Airport) asked me if I was going in with DTV or ED. I said DTV and she stamped the DTV entry date. Then I went to CMU to request my cancellation letter, waited for about a week. I just canceled my ED - Extension of Stay at CM immigration with no issue.

Hope it helps. 😊

Has anybody successfully cancelled an ED Visa after getting approved for a DTV? Exited Thailand with a Re-entry permit on an ED visa as a fail safe in case the DTV doesn't get approved. Got approved for a DTV then entered Thailand today stamped with the DTV. In planning to cancel the ED Visa in Bangkok, I requested for certification to cancel from the language school and they asked for the departure date. Similarly, most posts here suggested to cancel the ED visa first, depart and get the DTV.

My question: Do I have to leave Thailand again when I get the ED visa cancelled and re-enter with the DTV, again? TIA.

***Update, already processed the cancellation. Wasn't told I had to leave but then again they didn't say anything except hand the passport back. Unfortunately everything is in Thai and there's no "Cancelled" stamp. Anybody else have been through this process yet and can share what a right cancelation stamp should look like?

Hello.

My work visa expires on the 18th and I won’t renew.

I know, formally, there is a process to cancel the Visa. If I don’t do this process, will it cancel automatically on the 18th?

I plan to fly out that day anyway.

If I do the process, will they add any grace period to leave the country?

Going to immigration on 18, I would probably want to leave on 19.

The companies docs are never up to date and I’m worried about hassle and bribes (that would need to come from me) so would like to skip this process if possible.

I understand making it hard to get a visa but making it hard to cancel is asinine

Wanted to ask a question on work visa:

1. Work visa was from a rep office.

2. Rep office closing down n all employees left.

3. What is process for rep office to cancel the work visa for the one foreign staff?

4. Can a work visa be terminated by the visa holder herself with immigration after she has resigned and rep office do not cancel visa for her?

Thanks for your help

Hi all,

I was wondering:

If I resign efective immediately from my job and they cancel my visa, what is the process? Do I have 7 days to get out of the country?

Alternatively, if I want to cancel my work permit and visa, can I do so at immigration and have it transferred to a tourist visa in order to take care of wrapping up life here?

Any guidance would be appreciated! I am unable to bottle feed my baby and my school is not helping me find a work around. Their suggestion has been to push her to the point she's starving so that she accepts the bottle. I'm not that kind of parent.

Please help! What are my options? They can be very vindictive.

🙏🏻

Hello. Currently on a non B visa that will be cancelled at the end of this month because I’ve quit my job.

Am I right in thinking that the correct protocol is to leave Thailand (Malaysia) and come back on a tourist visa and then when I start my new job move onto a non B again?

Hi guys, I’m moving from Chonburi to Krabi on Friday. I have a Non-Im B visa and work permit which both expire at the end of November.

However, I’ve been told I need to cancel the work permit in the place it was issued (Chonburi) so I plan on doing this before I leave to avoid traveling back to Chonburi.

Does anyone know if I need to get the Covid visa extension as soon as my work permit is cancelled (making my visa void) or can I wait until I get to Krabi and do it there?

Thanks!
