Just been approved in Jakarta as freelancer

be aware! If you're already on a multiple entry visa or similar issued by your home embassy this will need to be cancelled before they can continue the DTV.

It will be your responsibly to contact your home embassy and get the visa cancelled. You then upload proof it has been voided to your application

Plan for at least 1 week to get this done.

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you're applying for a new Thai visa as a freelancer, it's important to cancel any existing multiple entry visa issued by your home country. This cancellation must be handled by the embassy that issued the visa, not your home embassy. You need to provide proof of cancellation when applying for the new visa. Plan for at least one week to complete this process.

This is no new thing. You were never able to apply for a new Thai visa, as long as you held a still valid stay permit or a still valid visa. You cannot have two visa simultaneously

I have Thailand visit visa single entry, and it's still valid since I haven't visited yet. I'm already an applicant for DTV, would I have to cancel my visit visa?

Anonymer Teilnehmer 607 you probably have no "visit visa" at all, but entered Thailand visa-exempt and received a 60-days stay permit. Same in case you have a 60-days extensions based on family visit, you need to leave Thailand which will make the stay permit void, before you apply for the DTV. So in any case, when you exit Thailand without a re-entry permit, the stay permit expires and you are free to apply for another visa
