Have asked a visa agent and they couldn't answer what I think is a simple question. Do you have to have 800,000 baht in the bank 2 months or 3 months before you apply for a visa extension, thankyou
Answer summary
The general consensus is that you need to have 800,000 baht in your bank account for at least 2 months prior to applying for a visa extension in Thailand. However, some suggest maintaining this amount for 3 months for additional safety, as rules can vary by immigration office. It's recommended to verify with the specific immigration office you plan to visit for complete accuracy.

I would definitely do 3 months. Forget about the 800,000. Just keep it there always.

If first extension then it would be nigh on impossible to have the money in the bank for 3 months!

it used to be 2 months for first time you apply, and 3 month all other times.

I BELIVE that it is now 2 months every time but depend a bit on the immigration.

The 2 months first time, is so you have 1 month to get a bank account, and deposit the money, during the 3 months you get originally when you get the NO from your home country.

Ask your immigration provincial office. I used to depend on many immigrations. And each had its own rules (from one to four months).

Bkk office: 2 months before and 3 months after your last year renewal. They literally underline on your bankbook copies, the date you renewed last year. The n they scroll down to see if any point during the years money has been below 800k or not.

2 months first time , extension 3 months. Maybe some say you can do 2 months before for the extension but why risk it.

For the first application it is 2 months and what I've been told by an immigration officer in Pattaya (years ago) is that for all future applications it's 3 months but I have seen posts on this site where people have said that they have been told it's 2 months for both.

It's 2 months in most if not all Immigration offices.

Ask the specific one you will be going to be 100% sure.

I think people get confused by the 2 months before, and 3 months after, and mix the numbers.

It depends, officially it's 2 months but some immigration offices want to see the funds in place for 3 months for all but the 1st extension of stay
