At Vientiane embassy they are asking for Guarantor in Thailand despite what some people here said you didn't need. The people at the door asked many people to fill that section. They said just write some friend in Thailand.

All I have is a paper with my information, photo, and QR code.

Hi. Not sure if a stupid question or not. I haven't been to Thailand for about 2 years now however last time I was there I was on a student visa. I left abruptly due to a job offer abroad and didn't cancel the visa or anything when leaving as had not heard this was something that needed to be done. Will this cause me issues when I plan to do a short holiday there for a few days soon?

DTV application in Hanoi approved! 🎉

I am the one who got requested to provide all the Thai visas I have received until present as additional document. If anyone is in a similar situation and was also asked to show them previous visas, it seems that there is nothing to worry about!

Anyway, If anyone is interested, I will share the details of my application process as a digital nomad.

5.11 (TUESDAY) – application submitted

documents I uploaded:

- confirmation of my location - Vietnamese visa stamp on my passport

- a bank certificate confirming that I have 500k bht in my account (original and English translation), no bank statements!

- in one pdf file: employment contract (original, translation), permission letter signed by the company owner, portfolio (although the website says they only require one of these, I preferred to play it safe)

For the translations I just used google translate - I simply uploaded a jpg file (screenshot) there, translator gave me back translated document, also in jpg format

6.11 (WEDNESDAY) - request for additional document: hotel booking in Vietnam

7.11 (THURSDAY) - request for additional document: all thai visa I received until present

TODAY 11/11 - visa approved.

Hi. I visited Thailand several times over the past 12 months either overland or by air. Each arrival was visa exempt with an Australian passport.

My last arrival was in June this year through Suvanabhumi Airport. On this occasion I was taken aside by an immigration supervisor and I was told I was entering Thailand too frequently on visa exempt stamps and that I should apply for a eVisa instead.

Now I would like to make a short visit on short notice.

The eVisa seems to require 10 days to process and I have to purchase a ticket prior to applying.

Would it be a mistake to ignore the warning I received on my last arrival and just show up and hope for a trouble free visa exempt stamp on arrival. Or would you advise applying for an eVisa?

Thank you for your advice.

Hi!

I’m currently holding a DTV visa and my husband is holding retirement visa. We have a daughter that turn one year old next month. She was born in Thailand.

I intended to apply for her as dependent with DTV but we couldn’t do it because I didn’t have enough 1M baht for both of us. Is there any way that I can connect my daughter with my husband visa? Or anything we can do to get her a long term visa? I have read that child is under 12 yrs old can be overstayed without a fine but we’re worried to be fool around with the rules because we will travel back and forth Thailand a lot. Thank you so much for your advice!
