TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about potential issues encountered by UK passport holders arriving in Thailand without a visa, noting confusion surrounding the automatic 60-day visa exemption for their nationality. Commenters clarified the status of entry regulations, emphasizing that UK visitors receive a 60-day entry exemption, not a visa. They highlighted recent changes, including the requirement to complete a TDAC online form prior to arrival, and cautioned that frequent back-to-back entries might raise concerns at immigration.
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

WARNING: Only trust Thai government websites with .go.th domains or Thai agent websites with .co.th or .in.th domains, as these require verified Thai registration and cannot be registered anonymously.

The official TDAC form is available at tdac.immigration.go.th, which uses the official .go.th government domain.

The services by AGENTS CO., LTD. does NOT charge any fees for arrivals within 72 hours. If you need to book more than 72 hours in advance, there is a service fee of $8.

Do not trust other sites pretending to be a trustworthy agency. Pay attention to delivery time - the service operated by AGENTS CO., LTD. has 1 minute delivery time for arrivals within 72 hours.

Don't fall for sites pretending to be tdac.in.th or the official government tdac.immigration.go.th website. Always double-check the exact domain in your browser.

Scam services may take days to process your application, others may not even do anything. With these TDAC scam services you also need to worry about double charges.

Please watch out for TDAC misinformation spread by fugitive Jesse Nickles and his many fake accounts on Quora, TripAdvisor, Reddit, and other platforms.

There really is no contradictory information. Just people that can’t understand what is written or listen to other people who cant understand what is written.

If you have a history of back to back visa exempt entries and it looks like you're trying to live here on free stamps etc, then expect a grilling at immigration when you arrive. If you are an occasional visitor staying a month or two a couple times a year then you have nothing to be concerned about.

What issues? There's no automatic visa for UK passports. There's a 60 day entry exempt of visa, where you have no visa. Arrived on it this month.

Thnx, I'm only in Thailand for 45 days.

I'll be coming for a little longer in October.

it's 60 days no visa with UK passport. Just do the DTAC arrival card with your travel info before landing. Though you can do it at the airport, that wastes time.

Thai immigration, is now enforcing the new laws.

@Steve ********
new laws? What new laws are those? The exempt entry is 60 days for UK passport holders coming on holiday.

Which new laws? I don't know of any

for people who don't get proper visas. They simply leave Thailand, and come back in and expect to stay for 60 days. Also, it's now 30 days, not 60 days, as a basic tourist. You need a visa in advance, to stay for 60 days.

@Steve ********
No it’s not. It’s still 60 days. Where on earth are you getting this stuff from?

@Steve ********
since when has it gone back to 30 days

What contradictory information? Show it to us. Things have been the same since July 2024. The only changes since then have been that you now need to fill out a TDAC online instead of doing the card on the plane. And that only started 2.5 weeks ago.

@Brandon ***********
For the record you didn't need to do a card on the plane before (assuming you arrive on visa exemption), that was for other countries

Why would you take the trouble to write this when it’s just wrong. You obviously have no experience from before 3 years ago yet you answer a question like you do.

If you don’t know just don’t answer.

@Stefan *****
You have always had to do one but it got suspended during covid and has just been reintroduced in a digital form
Steve ******
@Jim *******
yep exactly sometimes I filled mine in at suvarnabhumi airport before passing through immigration
Brandon ************
@Stefan *****
you absolutely did need to do a card on the plane. It was temporarily suspended a couple of years ago with all intentions to return (as it now has digitally). It was still being used at many land borders before TDAC system came online.
