Has the visa exemption rule in Thailand changed from 60 to 30 days?

Nothing has changed yet. It's still 60 days free entry with 30 days extension. They are in the initial steps of changing this, but it hasn't been approved yet. If it happens most likely it will be later this year, June or August.

Depends how many people in front of you in immigration didn't do their TDAC online. That will slow things down quite a bit.

in the news article it stated you have to show financial proof through your bank account going back the last 3 months. This is for applying for a tourist visa in your home country. My question is, does that apply to travel to Thailand on a visa free entry, or is it only for visa?

The US Embassy no longer gives those verification of income letters.

I do the same thing. I'll be leaving Bangkok for Da Nang next week. Maybe we can get together for a beer. I usually hang out at Chevys.
