Hi!

Looking to apply workation DTV in Ho chi Minh.

I'm hired as a remote contractor. My company can provide Employment letter, however, I only worked there for 2 months. I have proof of requirement for 500k baht savings already.

Wondering if I'll absolutely need payslips for the last 6 months.

Note that i get paid in digital currency so im not sure how i can show salary payment in bank account. I do have tax returns for my prior employment years, though it wasnt remote.

Hi, I'm arriving in Thailand soon, flying from the US. My spouse and I plan to get teaching jobs once there, but we'll start on just the visa-exempt entry. We haven't booked an outbound flight since we're planning to get jobs. Will this cause any issues on arrival for us? Thank you for the advice!

Just been informed my return home flight out of Thailand has been cancelled and I must reschedule.

I have been here for 60 days visa waiver and extended that another 30 days.

My departure was scheduled for the day before the last date on my 30 day extension's passport stamp.

Can I stay until midnight on the date of that stamp or must I depart BEFORE the date on the stamp, in order to avoid an "overstay" please?

Thanks, in anticipation.

UPDATE: 24th June 2025. It has been confirmed that departure must occur by midnight on the visa expiry date stamp so that date means "visa valid up to AND INCLUDING such-and-such a date".

I have an update, being that I attended at the Immigration Office but, despite the unavoidable circumstances (being beyond my control) their policy disallows them from extending my visa, even by a week.

What they CAN (and will) do, however, is allow me to apply for a visa/extension, on the last day of my current visa only (not before) and then DENY that visa/extension and stamp my passport with "VISA DENIED. PASSPORT HOLDER MUST LEAVE THAILAND WITHIN 7 DAYS" (to effectively afford me a further 7 days of execution).

Do I REALLY want a "Thai visa application denied" stamp in my passport?

Not if it can be helped, I feel.

When filing for the TDAC is the arrival date considered Day 1 or is Day 1 the day before arrival? Example: I arrive on July 3. Is July 1 the earliest I can submit for the card?

My husband is applying for the retirement visa. He is 50 and has all the requirements per the Thai embassy visa requirements. I won't be 50 until November. We plan on moving to Thailand in August. We have already secured a place to live in Krabi. Will I be applying for an O visa or a tourist visa until I turn 50? I'm sorry, but it's all kind of confusing. Do I go to the immigration office in Krabi to extend my tourist visa? I'd like to know where I start. Would a visa assistance office in Thailand be beneficial or is it better to attempt this on my own? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. 🙏🏻

For those of you who applied soft power in Hanoi were you asked for proof of income? I can't really tell if this is an informal requirement or not. I have ~650k in savings but I'm currently unemployed and unsure if this is an issue. In my free time I would like to pick up some freelance work but don't currently have any clients or paystubs.
