TLDR : Answer Summary
When transiting through Bangkok to Phuket on a Thai Airways flight, if your flights are booked together on one ticket, you typically will not go through immigration in Bangkok. Instead, you will proceed to the transfer area where you can wait for your connecting flight. Your luggage, if checked all the way to Phuket from the UK, should also go directly to Phuket without needing to claim it. You will complete immigration procedures only upon arrival at Phuket Airport.

If you booked all through thai airways then you dont go through immigration in bangkok you go to transfers this will take you to your next flight the phuket. Your bags if checked in at uk to go to phuket then your bags will be in phuket as you arrive. You will go through immigration at phuket Airport

I have done this journey a few times. If both flights were booked at the same time. You will do immigration at Bangkok, but not the main one. You follow the signs for Phuket, and that will take you to immigration, and into the domestic terminal. The main clue will be if your luggage is booked through to Phuket.

check how you booked your flight. I have travelled many times with thai airways and if you book and checked in to phuket then its as I have said you go to transfers sometimes yiu can do immigration at transfers of at destination just depends on how big the airport is

If your transit then you just go to gate for phuket. If you booked a domestic to Phuket then you go through immigration at bkk grab your bags and go to domestic.

Hopefully your on one ticket with Thai airways and your bags go direct you go to new gate and do immigration in Phuket.

Not knowing how you booked its just a guess

You pass Immigration airside then pass into the domestic flight gate area if you are travelling on one through ticket. If you do have separate tickets you do as above.

landing in Bkk the walk depends on the gate and if its S1 can be from few minutes walk to 15 minutes walk to immigration. Then domestic is 5 minutes walk from immigration
