Anyone else waiting on a DTV visa in Ho Chi Minh?

I applied on April 1st and it’s still showing as “pending approval”… anything I can do to speed things up?

For those who entered Vietnam recently on the 45-day visa exemption to apply for the DTV visa — did Vietnamese immigration ask you to show proof of an onward or return ticket when you arrived? Is this an official requirement?

Just want to make sure I’m prepared. Thanks in advance!

Thinking to go down the soft power route as I will be fairly new to the freelance world around the time I intend to apply for the dtv visa. Would medical sessions at a hospital in Thailand fall under soft power activities? (More for cosmetic reasons) Been looking into healthcare over there and keen to get on board. Guys I'm kinda scared about re-entry. Which airport is safer for DTV holders in Bangkok: Suvarnabhumi (BKK) or Don Mueang (DMK)?

I’m Indian and my wife is from Latin America. At New Delhi airport, I assumed check in staff (AirAsia) would bother us for return ticket since I didn’t book one but they just looked at our DTV visas and only asked how many days we’ll be in Thailand, I said 6 months and that was it, we were given boarding passes.

At DMK immigration, I handed over my passport and printed DTV - no questions , 180 day stamp given.

My wife was directed to first go to a medical counter and get her yellow fever vaccine verified (Certain Latin American countries need to do this). She got that done and returned to same immigration officer and got her 180 day stamp.

Overall pretty seamless. Excited to be in Thailand and call it home ☺️!

Curious if any fellow DTV visa holders can recommend a reliable agent or service they used to find a condo rental? Would really appreciate any leads or personal experiences.

Hello everyone.. what is needed to get a retirement visa ? And how does it works ? I’m 53 do Im entitled of an retirement visa? I heard also that you need 800.000 baths or an monthly income to prove .. does anyone knows how much should be that monthly income to show as a prove ?

Hi all, just a quick question. I am planning to apply for the dtv when I have handed my notice in for my current employer. I intend to work freelance on the weekends over the next 6 months to build a stronger application( I know this is not ideal as income will be quite low each month from this but better than nothing.) Would it be a red flag when providing my most recent bank statement as my last pay from the company will likely be on it. Is it likely they will query this? Applying through London embassy for reference

11 April 2025 - Interview day

Interview was very thorough, many questions and details about everything. Ultimately checking if I was legitimately going to train.

Had to print all the documents and carry it with me for their review, pretty much check every single document.

Very strict and particular on every detailed, if you ever going to apply from here make sure you have every single document and you know exactly what you will doing and planned.
